At Baker Hughes, our comprehensive sustainability strategy serves as our roadmap to embed people, planet, and principles into the fabric of how we do business. For us, sustainability is taking action, not just a promise. This year, the theme of our Annual Meeting was ‘Energizing Change’, and as part of that call to action we implemented several initiatives to ensure the event was executed in a sustainable manner. From intensifying our focus on baseline event footprint quantification, optimizing energy utilization at the venue and adopting hybrid transportation wherever possible, to embracing the principles of a circular economy for our food supply chain and waste management, engaging and also contributing positively to the local community, we strove to energize change sustainably in all facets of this year’s #BHAM2024. As part of this commitment we partnered with Fondazione Banco Alimentare Onlus, a food bank network that collects surplus production from the agri-food chain and distributes it to over 8,000 charitable organizations across Italy. What are some of the best ways you’ve seen organizations making a positive impact in the world around them? We’d love to know! 🌎 In 2023, we joined forces with reforestation organization One Tree Planted and humanitarian aid charity Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) as part of our commitment to make a positive impact on the world around us (cleverly named ‘OrbAid') 🌱 We have several initiatives in progress with these organizations (which we are very proud of), but we’re always ready for other great ideas. Drop your suggestions in the comments! 💵 We know major new funding is needed globally to tackle food loss and waste. And the Philanthropic Roadmap published today at #COP28 outlines how $300M could be put to good use right away in ready-to-fund philanthropic investments. The report highlights proven solutions and showcases seven countries tackling food waste (Brazil, China, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, South Africa and the USA). We need all parties - governments, businesses, and individuals - to come together to radically overhaul our food system. Over the past 6 years, the voluntary agreement model has been successfully rolled out in a number of countries as we work with national partners to deliver change. We know this approach of bringing businesses and government together works, and we now need donors to be the catalyst for change. We are chuffed to be part of a group who have contributed to the philanthropic roadmap - Bezos Earth Fund, The Betsy and Jesse Fink Family Foundation , IKEA Foundation, Robertson Foundation, ReFED, Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU) and World Resources Institute. Now we are hoping that donors will look further into this vital issue and how they can help catapult change. We won’t halt climate change, if we don’t fix our failing food system. Discover how the Philanthropic Roadmap can help. 👉 https://lnkd.in/efH-gwuq #COP28 #ClimateAction #FoodWaste Activate to view larger image,

Group Vice President Climate, Biodiversity, Water and Product Sustainability at Tetra Pak | Born in 349 CO2 ppm
Once again Tetra Pak made it to the A List for CDP. A Forest, and a double A- on Climate and Water. The last one reported for the first time. A testimony of the work done by my team and the overall involvement of our company. What makes me even prouder is that beyond those good scores from CDP, Tetra Pak is effectively reducing it's full value chain footprint (inc. Scope 3 yes yes) and has been doing so non stop for the past 4 years. And we recently released our Nature agenda that also covers the full value chain and aim at going beyond protection but also restore nature. So proofs before promises is our mantra. To Protect What's Good. We also call, once again, CDP to better value effective CO2e reduction in their scoring system to ensure the scoring continues to be as credible as possible. For Tetra Pak, there is no doubt that it is pushing us to improve our governance, systems, way of working on top of pushing effective results. David Cockburn Julian Fox Martin Carlsson Anni Vuohelainen Johan Olausson Martin Gehlen Lars Winborg Laurent Babikian
Tetra Pak has been recognised for leadership in corporate transparency and performance on forests by global environmental non-profit CDP, securing a place on its annual ‘A List’. #sustainablepackaging #recyclability #packaging #sustainability #circulareconomy #recycledmaterials #resourceefficiency
Tetra Pak recognised with ‘A’ score for transparency on forests for the eighth year running

Founder of Seep, award-winning eco cleaning tool brand | Cartier Women's Initiative Fellow | ex Selfridges, Booz & Deloitte
Every year, I dread having to sit down to write our impact report (cue dissertation flashbacks). As a B Corp, we've commited to writing one though so I have to suck it up. Thankfully, like many things that are a difficult, time-consuming and require deeper thinking, it is unbelievably rewarding. When we're going a million miles per hour, we don't often stop to look back at what we've been able to do beyond the financial numbers. So here are some non-financial things that we're very proud of in our 2023 impact report (find it in the Seep link below) ✨Launching our new bamboo microfibre alternative cloth 🎢 Hitting 3.5m in plastic cleaning tools saved from landfill (only 996.5m left to go by 2030 😅) 📦Gaining FSC accreditation across our packaging and some of our products (more to come) 🌲Continuing to support ON A MISSION's super high quality reforestation projects, planting over 12,000 trees to date in projects that are great for biodiversity & supporting local livelihoods 🫂Donating products to charities like The Hygiene Bank 👯♂️Offering options to our team and more flexible working and holiday A huge thanks to the full Seep family for this (Jean Shaw Smith, Kirstie de Vere, Silvia Sigrist, Joana S.). It's genuinely a full team effort to make sure that we stay laser focussed on our mission 💗💗💗 #betterbusiness #bcorp #impact #sustainabilityreporting

We’re thrilled to lead a collaboration of more than 20 philanthropic funders championing a tenfold increase in funding for regenerative and agroecological transitions. This is a huge step towards enhancing food security, improving nutrition, and centring equity and justice. We invite other philanthropies and world leaders at #COP28 to join us in scaling up finance to this incredibly important but underfunded area. Food systems transformation will help us to avert climate catastrophe! https://bit.ly/47zwoAa #climatephilanhtropy #FoodSystems #FoodSystemsTransformation #COP28UAE

We've learned so much... Our understanding of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and biodiversity credits from both the farm and business perspectives has grown significantly. There are two key insights to share: 1. Regulatory Foundations for #Market-Based Approaches: A market-based approach to #NbS and biodiversity credits cannot be fully effective without a solid regulatory framework. Without such regulations, efforts may not progress beyond #philanthropic endeavors. 2. Diverse Factors Supporting Life in the Tropics: The range of factors that sustain life in tropical regions is remarkable. Is key to strategically approach the landscape by integrating social, ecological, and economic perspectives as a whole. #PuraVida #BIOTA
