Vote Yes on August 6! EASC supports the Port of Everett's efforts to expand its boundary in Snohomish County as a key step towards ensuring regional competitiveness in a global marketplace. As the lead organization focused on supporting economic growth of the region, we believe this is essential for our community. Expanding the boundary will provide opportunities for increased infrastructure development and enhance international trade across the region. A trusted partner for capital infrastructure projects, the Port will redo its strategic plan, based on community input, to encompass the broader territory if ballot initiative is successful. Let's come together to support the Port of Everett's boundary expansion and secure a prosperous future for our community – by expanding the port boundary, we can attract new businesses, create jobs, and strengthen our local economy. Read Everett Herald's Editorial Board article on why you should vote “Yes” on the August 6th ballot here: https://lnkd.in/gVgtDe2k #VoteYes #PortofEverett #EconomicGrowth #CommunityDevelopment

🚢 Major Economic Opportunity Ahead! A groundbreaking cooperative endeavor agreement has been signed by ten states, including Illinois, to unify the inland and coastal ports along the Mississippi River. This marks the first time such a partnership has been recognized, paving the way for significant economic growth across the region. 🌍 Robert Sinkler, Executive Coordinating Director of the Corn Belt Ports, sees this as a game-changer for both local and global markets. Locally, the Illinois River Cities and Towns Initiative, led by Peoria Mayor Rita Ali and East Peoria Mayor John Kahl, aligns municipalities to attract investments and bolster regional development. With over 100 million tons of freight moving through this area every year, the potential for growth is immense. 💡 Read more: https://ow.ly/5t2450TxkpM #EconomicDevelopment #MississippiRiver #PortCollaboration #InvestmentOpportunities #GlobalTrade #InfrastructureGrowth

This August, you may see Port of Everett Proposition No. 1 on your primary ballot, asking voters in the proposed enlargement area whether to enlarge Port boundaries to include most of Snohomish County. While many large port districts in Washington state are county-wide — including all other ports in the state that operate international seaports — the Port of Everett is not. With nearly 830,000 residents and growing, only about 15% of the County has access to port tools and investments. This significantly restricts how the Port of Everett can help advance economic and community priorities across Snohomish County, one of the fastest growing counties in the state. Ballots expected to arrive around July 20. For more information and FAQs, visit https://lnkd.in/gsMTHfps.
