Here is something to think about this new year. If you are always traveling and meeting with people at different types of restaurants, here is an important tip to help you keep your credit or debit card info safe. Plan ahead and buy a gift card and use it to pay at the restaurant instead of taking out your credit card or debit card. This could save you from credit card fraud from many restaurants and bars. If you would like to leave a tip for the servers try to have cash at hand and pay your tips with cash.

Eric Reyes, who was working on the Alloy project, approached the safety department with a question about the safety of positioning his ladder near the top edge of the stairs. In detail, Eric explained what he was trying to accomplish and how he wanted to place his ladder for the task. He was rewarded with a gift card for asking the right questions and considering safety. Remember, if you ever have a safety question about something you are doing, don't hesitate to ask your supervisor or reach out to the safety department. #SafetyShoutOut #GroundedInSafety

By now, you know what a QR code is—but do you know how to spot a QR scam?🔎 Craig Jablonksi, VP, Operations, shares a few quick tips to help mitigate the risk of scanning a fraudulent code: 1. Inspect the QR Code: Ensure the QR code hasn’t been altered or tampered with before scanning. 2. Verify the Sender: Check the sender's email address and confirm the legitimacy of any messages or attachments through a different method, like a text or phone call. 3. Watch for Fraudulent Codes: If you find a QR code in a public place, such as a restaurant or coffee shop, ask staff if it’s legitimate. Stay safe out there!

roynewey-businesscoach.co.uk 👀 I help business owners accelerate the growth of their business using my proven system.
Great video..... but do we make similar requests of our customers sometimes without realising it? "Your call will be answered once one of our team is free." "I need your account number." "Yes, but you must open an account before I can put that order through for you." "Can you complete a short customer survey on how I have helped you today?" "Our Terms and Conditions are quite clear we can only offer you a credit note if you return the goods." "We close at 4.30 pm." "Please wait until one of our service staff is ready to seat you in the restaurant." "Batteries are not included." "Complaints have to be made in writing to our head office." "Sorry, the gift voucher is only valid for one year." What is your best example of customer service impositions? #wehavelostheplot #weonlypretendtocare #roynewey

🌟 It really is better to give than to receive. 🌟And we're not talking about gift cards or cash which can come off as impersonal or generic. “A gift often packs a more powerful punch than simply a gift card, or cash, as it demonstrates thoughtfulness and intentionality - that the giver has invested time, and considered thoughtfulness in selecting an item that suits the receiver,” says etiquette consultant Jo Hayes. 🌟As a well-know brand in the commerce space, We have years of experience shopping for and testing hundreds of whiskey decanter. Not only do I love shopping for a living, but I thoroughly enjoy sharing the best products with readers. 🌟With the help of a shopping expert and etiquette consultant, I compiled this list of thoughtful, high-quality gifts for every recipient and occasion. 🌟They are a good value given their quality and usefulness

QUISHING, STEALING THROUGH QR CODES OR BARCODES ••> Chike went to a popular bar in Ikoyi and decided to have a drink, he walked up to the barman, and got himself some whiskey.. After having a drink he brought out his wallet to pay for his purchase, but the barman told him that no cash is allowed. The barman said he can only pay through cash transfer, or through scanning a barcode. Chike who was curious on trying out a new system of payment decided to scan the Bar's QR code to make payments. 🌹He was redirected to the Bar's payout link which he showed to the barman, and the barman gave the confirmation that the payout link was correct. Chike inputted his details, including his card information and CVV. He was debited and it showed that transfer was successful. Chikeshowed this to the barman to confirm his payment. A call was placed to the cashier and his payment details sent but the cashier said the payment has not being received yet. Chike had to wait a little longer. Not up to 10 minute after the first transfer Chike started receiving series of debit alert and this he showed to the barman. As a Lagos boy Chike immediately had a change of mood, he was now in the mood of "No gree for anybody as he held the barman on his collar attracting the attention of other customers and the Bar's staff. Both parties gave their own explanation and the management had to look into this problem, They discovered that Chike has been redirected to a lookalike site. But How? was the question on the mind of the management. Now Chike is on the neck of the management for his money. This is Quishing. P.S Do you use QR code to carry out any online transactions or even information transfer? Till our next post. I am Ibekwe Obinna your digital security buddy. from me to you Stay Secured Stay Gallant Stay Giggy. Yagazie!!! #cybsecurityawareness #databreach #businesssecurity #onlinefraud

I don’t understand the appalling idiocy of the restaurant that posted a photo of the lost credit card to social media! On the bright side, the Fair Credit Billing Act prohibits all credit card companies from holding consumers responsible for unauthorized charges, so long as the consumers report their cards lost or stolen before a thief uses the credit card or credit card number. When a fraudulent charge occurs before a consumer reports the card lost or stolen, federal law still limits the consumer’s liability to just $50. That being said, it’s not surprising the lengths these companies will go to avoid complying with federal law! Best practice for the consumer is to dispute fraudulent charges in writing to trigger all rights under the law. And, if your credit card company is trying to hold you responsible for unauthorized charges, call me.
