🌿Farewell September, Hello October!🌿 As we approach October, it's time to confront some hard truths: diversity, inclusion, and a culture of respect are often praised in theory but neglected in practice. Are we creating inclusive, bully-free environments or stuck in cycles of performative gestures and silent complicity? This month, let’s rethink what fostering accurate equity and a culture of courage means. Are we ready to stand up against corporate bullying, challenge our own biases, and dismantle toxic systems? Fundamental transformation requires the courage to face uncomfortable truths and commit to meaningful change. How will you move beyond the surface to create a natural, lasting impact? It’s time to build workplaces where respect, equity, and courage are ideals and daily practices. #GoodbyeSeptember #HelloOctober #BeyondDiversity #EquityInAction #CultureOfCourage #StopCorporateBullying #InclusiveLeadership #ChallengeTheNorm #RealChange #BreakTheBias #DoTheWork #OctoberGoals #AuthenticInclusion #DiversityRevolution #AnnavanStadenConsultancy #IntegratedCoaching

The Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) recently asked their participants what their guiding values mean to them. The DDA guiding values are: power & choice, inclusion, relationships, status & contribution, health & safety, and competence. The voices and input captured here are so valuable! Thank you, DDA for seeking input from those you serve and using their voices to help guide further enhancement of the services you provide. Take a look at this advocacy! https://lnkd.in/gb_HNtnS

Dydd Gŵyl Dewi hapus! Happy St David’s Day! The first of March is Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant, or St David’s Day, the day when Wales celebrates its patron saint. A renowned preacher, his final words to his followers before his death on 1 March 589 were “Be joyful, keep the faith, and do the little things that you have heard and seen me do.” St David believed that we should “do the little things”, the small, considerate things that often make a big difference. What's one small thing you could do today that might make a big difference somewhere or to someone? - Check in with a friend or colleague you’ve not spoken to for a while? - Smile at someone as you pass them in the office or in the street? - Make someone a cuppa? - Let someone know you think they’re doing a great job? You never know how the small thing that you do might impact someone else’s day 😊 Let us know the little things that you do to make a difference. #Kindness #Wellbeing #WellbeingAtWork #Support #HR #HRCommunity #Inclusion #Recognition

🌍 Blindness Etiquette: Describing the Environment 🌍 When you're with someone who is blind, offering a brief description of the environment can make a big difference. Mention any obstacles, important features, or notable landmarks in the area. This helps them navigate the space with confidence and ease. For example, you might say, "There’s a chair to your left and a coffee table directly in front of you," or "We’re approaching a set of stairs." Simple descriptions like these can empower someone who is blind to move around more independently. Small gestures can lead to big impacts in creating an inclusive environment. 💙 #InclusionMatters #BlindnessEtiquette #stlb #VisuallyImpaired #Blind #CorpusChristi #Empower #Inspire #CommunitySupport

What a morning Julian and I had this week! My favorite part were the great big hugs only a five year old can deliver! A great reminder that our days don’t always arrive as expected; however if you stay open you can find the gifts in the unexpected! #fireinside #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipcoaching #teamcoaching #opentogifts
Earlier this week, Fire Inside Leadership's Sandi and Julian had the joy of facilitating with a team that truly practices inclusion. No child care? No problem! We were thrilled to have a little team member join us! She brought so much positivity and energy to our work, playing quietly by herself while sharing plenty of hugs with her fellow teammates.

Today is International White Cane Day! 🦯 On October 15th, we celebrate the White Cane—a symbol of independence, safety, and empowerment for people who are blind or visually impaired. This day is a powerful reminder of the strides we've made in promoting accessibility and inclusion, but also of the work that remains. Why the White Cane is Important: 🔹 It provides visually impaired individuals with the ability to navigate the world independently. 🔹 It represents resilience, self-reliance, and the right to move freely in society. 🔹 It raises awareness about the importance of accessibility and the need for inclusive environments. How can we contribute? 💡 Foster workplace accessibility for the visually impaired. 🤝 Advocate for inclusive policies and practices in our communities. 📢 Spread awareness by sharing the significance of White Cane Day. Let's commit to creating a world where everyone can thrive and move with confidence, regardless of their abilities. Together, we can make inclusion a reality. 💙 #WhiteCaneDay #InclusionMatters #Accessibility #IndependenceAndMobility #InclusiveWorkplaces #DiversityAndInclusion #SupportForAll
