y'all - a hybrid-remote position that requires 70% travel IS NOT hybrid-remote. and it's wild you only offer $70k for that: food prices in airports, childcare ... shoot, housesitting & doggy day care are bananas in cost. we gotta rethink "new normal" in work spaces/cultures/expectations. invest with abundance mindset and watch your talent pool grow.

We are in the final stages of our Career Advantage Program. This week, the focus was on how to navigate cultural differences in Australian workplaces. As someone who moved to Australia over a decade ago, I understand the challenges new migrant students face when adapting to a new workplace environment. Here are some practical tips shared: 1️⃣ Understand the Work Culture: Australian workplaces value a relaxed but professional atmosphere. Punctuality, reliability, and a positive attitude are highly appreciated. 2️⃣ Build Relationships: Engage in casual conversations about sports, weather, or weekend plans. It helps build rapport and also attend social events and team gatherings. 3️⃣ Embrace Diversity and Inclusion: Embrace the diverse perspectives and ideas your colleagues bring. Don’t be afraid to share your background and traditions. It will enrich the workplace environment. 4️⃣ Respect Work-Life Balance: Australians value a healthy work-life balance. Respect working hours and take your breaks. Prioritise your wellbeing and utilise any employee support programs offered, as required. Remember that adapting to a new culture takes time. Be patient with yourself and be open to learning. Wishing you all the best as you work and thrive in the Australian workplace environment. Organizations can provide comprehensive cultural training, family support programs, robust relocation assistance, career development and progression, competitive compensation packages, legal and administrative support, health and wellbeing services, community and networking opportunities, regular check-ins and feedback, and flexible working arrangements to help expatriate employees adjust to their new environment. These strategies help reduce cultural shock, improve integration, and ensure a smooth transition. They also offer support for families, including housing, school enrolment, and employment opportunities. Legal and administrative support ensures compliance with local laws and ensures access to comprehensive healthcare services. Additionally, organizations should offer community and networking opportunities, regular check-ins, and flexible working arrangements to help expatriate employees balance work and personal life. #ExpatRetention #GlobalWorkforce #CulturalAdjustment #RelocationSupport #EmployeeWellbeing

Finding a healthy work-life balance in regional areas can be both challenging and rewarding. Southern New South Wales, especially Goulburn offer close-knit communities, shorter commutes, lower living costs, and beautiful natural surroundings that enhance quality of life. Employers support work-life balance by offering flexible working arrangements and improving access to services like childcare, healthcare, and recreational facilities. Real-life examples, such as co-working spaces and community programs, demonstrate the positive impact of rural regional work and social connection opportunities. By addressing challenges and leveraging regional strengths, individuals and employers can create a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle that promotes both professional success and personal happiness. #SNSWLHD

Meet Nurcan Kizil Üstündag, our digital marketing guru, who started her journey with PLC2 in October 2022, coinciding with her daughter's first day of kindergarten. This introduces a central theme: the experience of returning to work as a young mother, after an extended parental leave. Let's read about Nurcan's experience. She soon realized that returning to work was not as easy as expected. Considerations such as industry, location, working hours, remote options, and family-friendly conditions significantly narrow the job search. At PLC2, Nurcan seamlessly integrated into the team without having to worry about childcare arrangements. Once onboard, she found PLC2 to be not only a welcoming workplace, but also accommodating to her role as a mother. Flexible hours and remote working opportunities eased the challenges of balancing work and family life. Why Move to Australia 🇦🇺 | Weekly series Over the next couple of weeks I would like to share some of the reasons why recruiters should consider taking their skills and experience down under. 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 #1 – 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 / 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝑫𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑨𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂 𝒊𝒔 𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝑵𝒐.5 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝑵𝑵 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒓 𝑻𝒐𝒑 10 Australia is renowned for offering a perfect balance between work and leisure. While so many come over to Australia to enjoy a gap year or sabbatical, they end up staying longer. The country has standard 38-hour work weeks, generous annual and parental leave policies. The workplace culture is flexible and relaxed, with many companies offering work from home and remote work options. Australia's natural beauty and favourable climate promote an active, outdoor lifestyle, enhancing physical and mental well-being. As a recruiter, you’ll not only enjoy a fulfilling career but also a lifestyle that promotes well-being and happiness. #Recruitment #InternationalRecruitment #MovingToAustralia #TechnologyRecruitment #DigitalRecruitment 🌏

With the rise of hybrid and remote work opportunities in recent years, it’s become easier than ever to pack up and move to a new town, city or even a new country. If you’re a parent, it’s never quite that straightforward, especially if your child is in school, has great friends and doesn’t want to move, but if you share parental responsibility with a former partner, relocating with a child can become even more problematic - our latest article outlines the legal considerations and requirements that need to be met when relocating with a child:

In product and service development, prioritizing the human-centered approach is key. Similarly, in companies, ensuring employees' well-being and satisfaction is vital. For international employees, especially those moving with families, demonstrating support is crucial. Employers can show appreciation by offering comprehensive relocation assistance, cultural integration programs, and a welcoming work environment that celebrates diversity. But one more step forward, implementing family-friendly policies like childcare support and fostering a family networking environment enhances the employee experience and boosts retention. By adopting a human-centered approach, companies create an environment where international employees feel valued and motivated to succeed, ultimately leading to stronger retention and overall company success. #humancentered #international #wellbeing #diversity #support

Founder / Director at Elijah's Hope CIC and Carers Collective. Helping unpaid carers to boost their wellbeing, ease their isolation and to become empowered.
If you’re a carer who is struggling to balance work, household and caring responsibilities you are not alone. 2.5 million carers in the uk balance work alongside their caring responsibilities, with 2 million of those juggling full time employment. That’s 1 out of 9 people that you are employing or work alongside that have high pressure and stressful responsibilities outside of work. Often people who care for others while working can end up bringing some of that stress into the office with them, whether it be being late because other carers didn’t show up on time or leaving early for doctors appointments or stress/tiredness due to something happening that morning or the evening before. These are all things that can be managed but only if the correct skills and knowledge are held and this is what our programme aims to do. We aim to help you take any tools and skills you currently have and mould it into something that can help in these difficult situations, whether you be the employee, employer or a co-worker. The next programme begins on 10th September, if this feels like something that can help you, your team or your workplace then reserve your place today via the link below! https://lnkd.in/eCyuTSxE
