My #LinkedIn #tip4day: bring the passion and show your skills in your profile & presence. In honor of Bruce Springsteen's latest  set of shows in our shared home state of New Jersey, I am sharing a clip of his performance the other night at MetLife Stadium, performing one of his standouts from the Born to Run album released in 49 years ago this month. The reason: the clip starts at 2:54, just after he's introduced the band, before launching into Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out. But the reason I chose this specific clip is to show you both the passion he still has, even at 73, for doing what he clearly loves doing, and his musicianship as he interacts with the crowd. I love doing what I do: it is my calling. We should all be so lucky to be fulfilling our passions this extraordinarily at his age. Are you bringing the same level of passion and proficiency to your LinkedIn profile? And if not, what in the world is stopping you?! Thank you for coming to my #EDtalk https://lnkd.in/eJz-C_2i ✅ Comment on this and other of my posts before using a reaction emoji: this trains the algorithms that you want to see more of them ✅ Follow me or the #tip4day, #EDtalk, and HiringFriday hashtags, or ✅ Ring that notification 🔔 on my profile And doing all of this guarantees you'll see these daily tips and other musings in your LinkedIn newsfeed.

Thanks for the heads up John, I've reposted as editing in the link fails to fetch the preview.

Last night, my retired (lawyer) uncle stoped my and asked about my work. After I shared a bit, he told me how nice it was to heard someone speak so passionately about their work. I told him it’s my life’s work to help others feel that excited about their work. Work doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom and sacrifice. I truly believe we can each find meaningful and fulfilling work. Just like you Ed Han and the Boss. 🎸

Doing work that gives you energy is one of the 3 keys to career fulfillment (the others being - working with an organization that believes what you believe, and having your non-negotiables honoured). I joke that at age 46 I finally knew what I wanted to do when I grow up (be a coach!) The Boss brings that energy to his performances, you bring that energy to your work, and everyone has an opportunity to bring that energy to their LinkedIn profile. And if someone is not feeling that energy - then that is information to pay closer attention to. It likely means something. Enjoy your long weekend Ed Han !

I love this…a number of years ago, I saw a Billy Joel concert. And I had a similar reaction when he announced before each song, “So I wrote this song in 1974….” And each date was 30-35 years ago … imagine writing a song and singing it monthly for 30-35 years? Staying inspired and engaged all that time is effort that easily happens when you love what you do…carries you through the hard days when it is your calling. So inspiring, Ed!!

Yes! Passion is critical. With ideation as one of my top five strengths, I’m sometimes distracted by something new. This took me away from helping others gain comfort with networking. I realized my lack of consistency with the new effort was attributed to my lack of passion. It’s okay to pivot to explore or rediscover passion. Another great discussion starter. Thank you, Ed

Love this, Ed Han. I saw Bruce here in LA a few years ago with my husband, who grew up in NJ and has always been a huge fan. He played for 3.5 hours straight ~ ♥️ his passion!

Love this post, Ed Han! I think that folks think that LinkedIn profile updates need to happen all at once - which can be intimidating. A hit song is a bunch of chords strung together and wasn’t necessarily written in one day. Greatness happens over time. Consistently tweaking pieces of your profile leads to something fantastic.
