Executive Director, Data Science 4 Everyone

Last week, I briefed several Congressional offices and a House caucus in Washington D.C. representing education proposals from the Federation of American Scientists #AIPolicy Sprint via the #DayOne project. “Briefing Congress” was not on any list that I could imagine even just a few years ago, and I was so so grateful for the opportunity to represent all the amazing education proposals from the #DayOne cohort. We have a window on AI policy to do something meaningful before it moves, and several growing coalitions including TeachAI Pat Yongpradit and the EDSAFE AI Alliance Erin Mote are fighting for to make education a priority in these discussions. Take a look at the great ideas below and help us make sure education is part of the docket: Comprehensive AI Literacy investments and national strategy (Amanda Bickerstaff Mandy DePriest Corey Layne Crouch): https://lnkd.in/gyCdzaaz Ensuring students with disabilities are empowered rather than harmed by new AI edtech (Nicole Fuller (Jurewicz) and Lindsay Kubatzky): https://lnkd.in/g7Y5MBZi Centering demand rather than supply-driven AI education research (Dr. Byron L. Ernest): https://lnkd.in/g7ws_vyY Helping states navigate the AI moment (Tara Courchaine): https://lnkd.in/gmVbcvfP Reimagining education research cycles for the AI-era (Anastasia Betts, Ph.D., Sunil Gunderia, Diana Hughes, MFA, Erin Lenihan, M.Ed.): https://lnkd.in/gVF-FiSZ National technology corps and training network for classroom educators (Zarek Drozda): https://lnkd.in/gfmEGbRh Huge thanks to Daniel Correa, Jack Titus, Karinna Gerhardt, and Ginger Zielinskie at FAS for helping make this possible!! #AIPolicy #AILiteracy #DataLiteracy https://lnkd.in/gNRVHsTA

Great to see what you're doing out in front of the efforts to make AI work better in education. Seems like we're barely at the beginning of the beginning, and things are already happening at lightning speed.
