What does Grassroots Grocery do during the week when we're not hosting our Saturday Produce Party? One major focus is our commitment to nurturing the future through regular produce deliveries to middle and high schools in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx. A prime example of this commitment is our partnership with New Directions Secondary School, initiated by a committed school social worker, Jolyon Davis, LMSW,SIFI, who sought out resources for his students. Today marked a particularly special moment, bringing me back to my educational roots in the Bronx. This time, invited by Jolyon not for a produce delivery but to share insights from my career journey alongside a diverse group of professionals at the NDSS career fair. Speaking at this event was an opportunity to demonstrate the synergy between our weekday school deliveries and our vision for a healthier, empowered future for young minds. I hope that today I helped some students envision a future as rich and diverse as the produce we deliver. A heartfelt thank you to Jolyon for integrating Grassroots Grocery into the fabric of NDSS, and a shout-out to all the other professionals today for enriching the career fair with their insights and experiences. As Grassroots Grocery continues to bridge the gap between food access and education, every delivery, conversation, and partnership, especially ones like with NDSS, underscores our belief in the transformative power of community engagement. Together, we're not just feeding families; we're planting seeds of potential in the next generation. Let's keep building those bridges, one produce delivery and career fair at a time. #CommunityImpact #EmpoweringYouth #FutureLeaders #FoodJustice #BuildingBridges

Over 900 Resumes Written ~ Viral Resumes ~ Helping Your Resumes Go Viral ~ Interview Coaching ~ Public Speaker
Today, on Labor Day, let's honor all the hardworking individuals who contribute to our society, those who work and those who want to work. Immigrants, as a labor force, have also played a crucial role in building our nation. Their diverse skills, resilience, and cultural contributions have enriched our communities and economies. Here are some facts about Labor Day: 1. It became a US federal holiday in 1894. 2. Oregon was the first state to celebrate it 1882. 3. It is always celebrated on the first Monday of September. 4. It is considered the unofficial end of summer because the first day of school begins for many schools with traditional rather than year-round calendars. 5. Most importantly, Labor Day commemorates the contributions of working people throughout the country and the world. Join our Level-Up Job Fair on Thursday, October 17 and hire qualified candidates. Together, we can build a stronger and more inclusive workforce. #LaborDay #ImmigrantWorkers #Diversity #Inclusion #ThankYou #JobFair #Hiring #CareerOpportunities #LevelUp

Director | Education Recruiter | 10 years experience | Qualified Teacher. Recruiting Teachers and Education Support Staff for roles in Primary, Secondary and SEND Schools across the North West.
Looking forward to visiting schools in #GreaterManchester today! 🎒 As usual, I'm bringing some goodies—but not the typical branded mugs and pens. Instead, I’m delivering items schools actually need. Having worked as a secondary school teacher for 9 years in a Preston school serving some of the most deprived areas, I’ve seen firsthand how basic necessities can make a huge difference. Our school even set up the first onsite food bank in the area, because for many students, their free school meal was the only food they’d get all day. Sadly, we soon realized this was just the beginning. When students struggle with basic needs—food, hygiene, comfort—how can we expect them to focus, learn, and thrive? 🧠📚 These challenges can lead to bullying or even school avoidance. That's why I prioritize bringing meaningful support to the schools I work with. At Now Education, we offer much more than recruitment services. Our support for schools includes: ✅ Partnering to ensure staff matches the unique needs of each school. ✅ Sponsoring school events with breakfast, lunch, or refreshments. ✅ Donating raffle prizes for school initiatives like attendance awards. ✅ Offering cash rebate schemes that give money back to schools. ✅ Providing full transparency on charge rates and candidate pay. ✅ Participating in school career fairs, offering mock interviews and CV workshops. ✅ Volunteering my time to work in schools for a day to understand systems and better prepare our candidates. Our commitment is to make a real impact—because when schools and students thrive, we all do. 🌟

The Vermont Department of Labor released data on the #Vermont economy for the time period covering August 2024. 📊 A quote from Commissioner Harrington: “The new monthly data for August shows little movement in Vermont’s labor market. Even with a slight uptick in the unemployment rate, August’s rate is still at a near-historic low. With the end of summer, many seasonal businesses start slowing down while industries like education start ramping up. To support this migration, the Department hosts multiple job fairs connecting Vermonters looking for new opportunities with Vermont businesses needing talent. Recent job fairs in Rutland and Bennington yielded positive results for both workers and employers and coming up, the Department will be in Lyndon Center on September 27th and White River Junction on October 3rd. To learn more about these events, visit labor.vermont.gov." 🔗View the full release: www.vtlmi.info
