Someone asked me recently why I left workforce development. My response was that I didn't, I just went to the front of it. Check out this recent Forbes article highlighting our CEO Michael Hansen as he shares how higher education has to align with technology to meet employability gaps and Cengage is right in the middle of helping to research and develop globally how prepared that talent is once it leaves the classroom and goes to work in your neighborhood. https://lnkd.in/e5j4PDCq

We have been honored to partner with schools and school districts throughout the United States. During this time, we have worked with some exceptional school leaders dedicated to improving student outcomes. Here's feedback from Chad H. Thomas, the former Principal of Sullivan High in Chicago, IL, regarding the use of RespondAbility: "RespondAbility allows us to see in real-time how are we doing ... if we need to alter the plan, adjust the plan, or be flexible with the plan. Without the tool you can get lost... the tool allows you understand what’s the 20 percent that’s going to move your school.” 3 additional insights from Chad about using RespondAbility: 1-“We focused on 3 things that we thought would start to change the school and we used RespondAbility to help us monitor the progress of those 3 strategic plans.” 2-“We slowly moved the Respond-Ability work to some of our midlevel leaders throughout the building to help them focus on their work.” 3-“The tool allows us on a weekly basis to learn, reflect … learn, reflect that sort of cycle goes over and over. If you are seeking a transformative tool to help your school leaders become more collaborative, efficient and transparent, we invite you to learn more about RespondAbility (Link Below). #edtech #K12 #education #respondability #impact

It's no secret that the greatest skill we can teach children isn’t tied to any particular subject, career, or pathway—but rather the ability to thrive in uncertainty. The future is evolving faster than ever. Careers we can’t yet imagine will become commonplace, and industries we rely on today may disappear. The question isn’t whether we’re preparing children for college or careers; it’s whether we’re preparing them to adapt, innovate, and lead in a world where the only constant is change. As K-12 leaders, you’re steering the ship of education in uncharted waters. The weight of balancing traditional measures of success with modern readiness strategies falls squarely on your shoulders. But here’s the opportunity: the systems we build today can redefine what success looks like tomorrow. #CareerAwarenes #FutureReadiness #CollegeAndCareerReady #EducationForAll #StudentSuccess #FutureFocused #CareerConnectedLearning #PostSecondaryPathways Photo by Katja Anokhina on Unsplash

Reflecting on my first year as Campus Director at Premier High School, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude. The 23-24 school year was a journey of highs and lows, but through perseverance, we came out on top. The experience has shaped me into a stronger educational leader, and I am incredibly proud of the team we have built. Three qualities that made me a great leader: Resilience: Navigating through challenges and setbacks with a positive outlook. Empathy: Understanding and addressing the needs of both students and staff. Vision: Setting a clear direction and inspiring others to work towards it. Three great qualities of my staff and what made them a great team: Collaboration: Their ability to work together seamlessly and support each other. Dedication: Their unwavering commitment to the students' success. Innovation: Their willingness to try new methods and improve the learning experience. As I reflect on the past year, I am excited to implement the lessons learned for the 24-25 school year. Our focus will be on: Recruiting, hiring, and retaining high-quality staff. Fostering an environment of love for learning. Building strong partnerships within the community has been pivotal for our students and families. These connections have provided invaluable resources and support, enhancing the educational experience. "Every child deserves a champion." This quote will continue to guide our efforts as we strive to make a positive impact in the lives of our students. Here’s to another year of growth, learning, and success at Premier High School! #Leadership #Education #Community #PremierHighSchool #Reflection #Growth

9 Reasons Why Teachers Really Quit!! I talk to a lot of principals, vice-principals and superintendents--and the #1 issue they talk about is "how do we support our staff better?" That might be a surprise for most teachers to hear, since more than 1 million teachers have quit the profession over the last decade (source: Wall Street Journal). But if your school has one of the 9 Problems highlighted in the graphic below - then you should follow the link in this post. And here's why? If you're a principal or school leader - now there's a solution for all 9 reasons why teachers really quit and more ways to help you run a more stress-free school environment. Doesn't that sound nice? Less stress, more productivity, and better student achievement. What's the solution called? The Principal's Academy newsletter. When you sign up for this newsletter, you will get access to a monthly newsletter that will cover the most important topics related to school leadership, +plus you will be locking in access to me "The School Doc." And here's why that's important! I was a school principal and superintendent for 10 years--and when I ran a K12 school there was always one day during the school year where everything went wrong. Yes, there is always one day that is complete hell. On that day - I wish there was a K12 expert I could have called to calm me down, keep me focused and also provide me with expert K12 advice. When you sign up for the Principal's Academy newsletter - you will be putting me on retainer for the school year. That means, if you have a real issue in your school - you do not need to go scrambling to find a K12 expert. And that's because you already have me in your back pocket. This is the smartest leadership decision you will ever make, which is why more than 100 principals and vice-principals used to sign up for the in-person version of this Academy back in 2013. With the power of the internet - I can now offer that same K12 expertise across the country. And you get to reap the benefits. But you have to sign up now! Follow this link: https://lnkd.in/gCQTk29U The enrollment window is closing fast because the first day of school is right around the corner. And I want you to lock in your access for the whole year. But don't take my word for it - read the Newsletter yourself. Yes, you can read the entire first edition FOR FREE!! Follow the link, read the newsletter and make up your own mind. Don't forget that by signing up, you not only get the monthly newsletter, but you also put me on retainer for the year. This is the smartest decision you will make all year!! Enjoy the rest of your summer and hope to see you in the Fall!
