Have you been supporting higher education but getting disappointed in your ROI? Disappointed that the Ivy League college you've been supporting teaches students to hate Jews and demand their genocide. Disappointed that your money is going towards furthering hate instead of spreading light. I understand. You wanted to help propel society forward, but your money has been funding a backward slide. Luckily, there's another option. You can still support higher education. Jewish higher education. Only this time, your money will be spent on spreading light, love, and real moral values. PM me and I'll find you a great Jewish school to support. ______ ATT is Chicago’s central agency for enhancing Jewish education through professional development, courses, funding & advocacy.

Director of Admission & Community Engagement | Strategic DEIB Advocate | Champion of Equity, Inclusion & Social Justice | Community Builder
I am deeply saddened and outraged by the recent decision of Oklahoma's governor to eliminate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) offices statewide. This includes the DEI office at the University of Oklahoma, where I earned my Master's with a focus on Equity and Social Justice. The dissolution of these offices is a major setback in our collective journey towards creating more inclusive and equitable spaces, especially in educational institutions. DEI initiatives play a crucial role in challenging systemic biases and promoting a culture of understanding and respect for diverse perspectives. Oklahoma’s poverty levels make it the 8th highest in the country, with over 25% of Black Oklahomans, 21% of Latinx Oklahomans, and 20% of Indigenous Oklahomans living below the poverty line. As a doctoral student focused on leading this work, and someone who is deeply invested in decolonizing leadership, this decision feels like a personal and professional blow. It's disheartening to see such actions that disregard the importance of fostering healthy, vibrant, and equitable communities in a state like Oklahoma. We need to stand firm in our commitment to equity and inclusion and continue to advocate for the critical role of DEI in education and beyond. I call upon my network, fellow alumni, and advocates for social justice to join me in expressing our collective dissent against this decision. #DEI #Equity #SocialJustice #UniversityOfOklahoma

In honor of #BlackHistoryMonth, we’re shining the spotlight on some of our inspiring grantees! This week's organization is the Social Justice Learning Institute (SJLI), dedicated to improving the education, health, and well being of youth and communities of color by empowering them to enact social change through research, training, and community mobilization. SJLI operates three core programs to better serve the whole community: • Empowering Through Education – Using education as a tool to empower communities of color to unlock their ability to change their lives and the world around them. Programs include Urban Scholars, which aims to support youth of color in increasing academic achievement, graduating from high school, and transitioning to college. • Creating Thriving Communities – Working to transform neighborhood conditions by improving the built environment and expanding access to resources that enable residents to be healthy and thrive. SJLI's Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) nutritional education program provides community members with opportunities to expand their knowledge, understanding, and access to healthy living activities. • Changing Systems – Building capacity for community members to identify and rectify injustice and to advocate for policies that address their needs. SJLI's Youth Justice Fellowship (YJF) delves into systemic issues impacting education, economics, youth development, community empowerment, health, environment, criminal legal system, and policy. Learn more about SJLI and how you can support them today at sjli.org.

Students will be impacted by what's going on in our communities. Many may feel judged or misrepresented, leading to huge distress and/or anger/alienation. A teacher has to develop many skills, and that of a diplomat is among the most important. Being able to talk about difficult or sensitive issues without causing distress or making pupils feel unsafe or unwelcome is vital. We hope our new Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (#EDI) #professionaldevelopment courses will help schools and teachers deal with this urgent challenge. #prejudice #diversity #inclusion #equality #equity #teachers #teaching https://lnkd.in/gtcipKRb
Schools and teachers are a core part of our communities and many young people and families will look to them for support and guidance in the coming months. It's critical that they get the right support to stand against racism, division and hate in whatever form it takes.
