Do you know that dolphins, fish, sharks, turtles, seabirds and crabs are vulnerable to harm from plastic debris in the ocean? Additionally, animals also mistake small plastic debris for food or become entangled in or strangled by plastic bags and discarded fishing nets. This is why @keeptheoceancleaninitiative is investing heavily to educate maritime stakeholders and coastal communities on the dangers of marine pollution. Together we can save our ocean and marine lives..

Did you know? 20% of all plastic waste in the sea comes from marine sources like nets, ropes, and lines. These seemingly harmless items can pose serious threats to marine animals. 🐢🦑 Imagine a sea turtle gliding gracefully through the ocean, only to become entangled in a discarded fishing net. Its struggles are real and heartbreaking. But it's not just turtles; dolphins, seals, and seabirds face similar dangers. When marine animals get stuck in plastic debris, it can lead to injury, suffocation, or even death. They may lose limbs, suffer from infections, or starve because they can't hunt properly. It's a tragic consequence of human negligence. But there's hope. By raising awareness, reducing plastic use, and properly disposing of fishing gear, we can create a safer environment for marine life. Let's work together to ensure our oceans remain vibrant and teeming with life. 🌊🐠 #ProtectOurOceans #EndPlasticPollution #BeatPlasticPollution #SaveOurOceans #PlasticPollution #OceanConservation #thinkocean #seapollution #plasticpollution #saveourseas #bethetideforchange #bethetide #sustainability

🏝🐳 would you let a giant die? 🐋 Our whales are being pushed to the edge. Pollution, plastic, and fishing ropes and more trap them. Every day, they struggle for survival. Removing mussles or showing them love with a kiss? Amazing! But these majestic creatures need more from us. They deserve full protection to thrive in our oceans. If we don’t act now, what’s their future? Let’s stop pollution, remove plastic, and end dangerous fishing practices. Together, we can save them! 🐬🌞 what do you think? #SaveTheWhales #OceanConservation #ProtectOurPlanet #EndPlasticPollution #WildlifeProtection

In celebration of Sea Turtle week, here are some ways to be a responsible coastal resident: Marine debris consists of trash that is disposed of or abandoned into the marine environment, such as plastic bottles, cups, food wrappers, straws, cigarette butts, and other plastic items. This debris poses a threat to natural resources and humans alike. Sea turtles, marine mammals, and other species can swallow pieces of trash and experience entanglements. Follow these tips to help keep our waters and shorelines free of pollution. Choose reusable products, such as water bottles, cups, and bags, instead of single-use plastics. Plan ahead to reduce the amount of plastic and disposable items you bring to coastal areas. Secure your belongings to prevent them from becoming marine debris. Never leave trash behind at the beach and never throw it in the water. Participate in beach cleanups to remove trash from your coastal area. #SeaTurtleWeek #seaturtleweek

🌊 Protecting our oceans is crucial for the survival of marine life. 🐳 Did you know that sea turtles often mistake plastic bags for their favorite food, jellyfish? This can lead to ingestion and stomach blockages, endangering their lives. Let's raise awareness and take action to reduce plastic pollution and safeguard our marine ecosystems. Together, we can make a difference. 🤝 #OceanConservation #BeatPlasticPollution #SaveOurOceans #PlasticPollution #OceanConservation #thinkocean #seapollution #plasticpollution #saveourseas #bethetideforchange #bethetide #sustainability 🐢🌎

Repost #Marcus Parade A Surprising Cooperation Between Wildlife and Humans As wildlife habitats shrink, a surprising consequence has emerged: closer cooperation between species and a growing bond between wildlife and humans. Research by Dr. Amy Dickman and Dr. Bill McManus highlights how interspecies collaboration increases when animals are forced to share resources in fragmented ecosystems. Furthermore, studies by Dr. Kate Gaynor reveal that animals in urban areas are adapting to human presence, leading to a new form of coexistence. This unexpected cooperation underscores nature's resilience and the need for urgent action to protect these ecosystems. #Conservation #WildlifeCooperation #HumanNatureBond #Sustainability #Research For more details on the research: Dickman, A.
