Many leaders don't realize just how great of an effect their nutritional choices can have on the brain. Science tells us that eating well affects the brain at a molecular level, meaning that—in the simplest form—what we put in our systems has a direct influence on our functioning. Try boosting your servings of fresh fruits, vegetables, and high-fiber whole grains for a week and see what a difference it makes. #Leadership #Food #Healthy #Brain

Enhancing Cognitive Function for Leaders Through Diet Leaders rely on sharp cognitive abilities to make strategic decisions. The right diet can significantly enhance cognitive function. Brain-friendly foods include those rich in antioxidants, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. Blueberries, known as brain berries, are packed with antioxidants that improve brain health. Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish, flaxseeds, and chia seeds, are critical for brain function. These fats support the structure of brain cells and improve communication between them. Leafy greens like spinach and kale are rich in vitamins E and K, which protect brain cells from damage and support cognitive function. Whole grains provide a steady supply of glucose, the brain's main energy source, enhancing concentration and focus. Leaders can boost their cognitive abilities by incorporating brain-healthy foods into their diet. This can lead to improved decision-making, creativity, and overall leadership effectiveness. https://lnkd.in/dSTn4AyA

Standard American Diet in a nutshell 👇 Businesses trying to meet 5 objectives: 1. Make something that’s cheap 2. Make something that tastes good 3. Make something easily transportable 4. Make something that’s made at scale 5. Make something that's portable to eat The American diet wasn’t created to kill people. ↳ But it does an excellent job of doing so. The food industry needs to profit. To whose expense? → Our health. After learning the "business side" of things. Food labels start to make more sense. P.S. What do you take into consideration when making your meals? I aim to have 90% of my week consist of single-ingredient foods. ↳The other 10% are foods like 🍔 🍦 🥃

Brian O'Malley is a firm believer that we learn about food by focusing on the whole, as Marcus Aurelius would say. "To grow an onion for onion soup is to only be satisfied with the whole. When you learn how to make [onion soup], you learn about the impact of preparing it yourself. Then, you learn about the value of different kinds of onions, where to get them, how to grow them. And then you learn not just by eating it, but how to serve it to someone else, how to satisfy someone else's desires with it, how to meet somebody else's hunger. [...] To seek [the whole culinary process] is the way that we expand satisfaction. [...] Satisfaction expands not through breadth, but through depth." By combining the Center's expertise in program evaluation and Brian O'Malley's expertise in all things culinary, we hope to make meaningful contributions to nutrition research moving forward and gain new insights into how we can create the most powerful health impact 🍅

REMINDER : In today’s world, it’s so easy to reach for convenience foods. However I’ve learned the immense value of prioritizing whole/real food in my diet. Switching to natural, unprocessed foods and steering clear of things like dyes, seed oils, and heavily processed items has been a game changer for me. By focusing on fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins, I’ve noticed a remarkable difference in my energy levels and overall well-being. This journey isn’t just about what I eat-it’s about how I feel. Choosing real food has boosted my mental clarity, improved my mood, and made me feel more alive every day. It’s incredible how much better we can feel when we give our bodies the nutrients it truly needs. Making this shift wasn’t always easy, but it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health. It's crucial to invest in ourselves by choosing whole foods and saying no to artificial stuff. Our bodies need it.

Here’s how you relate dieting to a relval trade or value investing 📈📉📊 When dieting, we want to maximize the “bang for our buck” when it comes to calories. Nothing CREATES MORE VALUE in this trade than lean protein and “low energy density” fiber choices. Think lots of grilled chicken, lean fish & meat, low/no fat dairy, egg whites etc on the protein side. Pair that with lots of fruits, vegetables and high volume, fiber filled snacks like popcorn… And you found a magical combination of putting a lot of food into your mouth for very few calories. This strategy will keep you fuller for longer, and feeling less like you’re depriving yourself on a daily basis. In order to lose weight, you must eat less and or move more. That science. What people struggle with is the optimal way to do it. If you have questions about this, just ask 👇 Connect with me: brian@thesuccesslift.com https://lnkd.in/gpBc4CdZ

Author of The Hummus Strategy | Professional Speaker | Consultant | Growth Coach | President of PSA Arabia | Facilitator | Host | I help organisations execute ideas leading to cost-effective solutions for business growth
I only eat whole foods. Here's why organisations should consider this for their employees. We all want to feel our best and look after our health. This is one simple change that can make a big difference. When I cut out processed foods from my diet, I noticed improvements in my energy levels, focus, and overall well-being. Whole foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes, eggs and meat are in their natural, unrefined state. They provide nutrients that are easy for our bodies to absorb. Processed foods, on the other hand, have had their fibre, vitamins and minerals stripped away during manufacturing. Many are high in added sugar, unhealthy fats, salt and preservatives. And when you eat sugar, you want more sugar due to addiction and to get that instant gratification, but that sugar isn't just in sweets but also foods like pasta, hamburgers and canned goods. I believe that more workplaces should encourage people to eat better in their workplace by offering and providing better choices for their employees. Healthy, focused and happy employees = more productive employees. Give whole foods a try - I guarantee your employees will feel the difference in their body and brain performance. What’s your diet like? Also, Sucre or Honey?! Processed or natural food ? P.S. Want to discover The Secrets of the 'Spider Diagram' and how to be Focused and Organised?
