🔌 Avoid These Common Electrical Connection Mistakes! As a maintenance technician, I've seen my fair share of electrical errors that can cause headaches down the line. Here are a few pitfalls to steer clear of when making electrical connections: 1.Loose Connections: Always ensure connections are snug and secure. Loose connections can lead to overheating and potential hazards. 2. Ignoring Proper Insulation: Properly insulate connections to prevent short circuits or electrical shocks. 3.Mismatched Wire Sizes: Using wires of different sizes can compromise the integrity of the connection and affect performance. 4.Forgetting to Test: After making connections, testing is crucial. Don't skip this step to ensure everything is functioning as it should.

Visual Inspections Can Save Lives The significance of our eyes is never underestimated amidst our array of sophisticated electrical equipment testing and diagnostics. For a NETA technician, visual inspection is paramount, particularly evident in this instance. During the routine visual inspections and cleaning of a 4160V SWGR, a wrench was unexpectedly discovered lodged within one of the bus bar tubes, likely left behind by a prior contractor. Unnoticed, this oversight could have resulted in detrimental damage to the breaker stabs and potential failure of the bus upon energization. Always remember that, regardless of the task at hand, the potency of your vision and environmental awareness should never be disregarded. #RESAPower #PowerofUs #SafetyFirst #SafeCulture #VisualInspection #NETA

My experience on being a field service technician so far: -One need to have high emotional intelligence because you deal with different people, with different emotions going through different things. I learn not to take things personally especially when you’re young, most people undermine you until you deliver. -Prepare a day before going on-site , so that you will know the equipment you’re going to work with, because clients see you as a specialist, often times they ask you lot of questions. Sometimes if you finish early they might request a few minutes training. -After visiting a client the following day don’t go on-site, finish all the paper work and report and send them on time. Clients will notice that you’re committed. -To those who want to be field service technicians, my advice is, you got to have passion for it because every day you learn new things, so you have to read manuals every chance you have. #Abb #Instrumentation #Field_service #engineering
