You feel delighted when you find a two decades old conference article of yours, while searching for something else, & realize that one of the conclusions in the article & recommendation is now being implemented as one of the main policies of the government. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had recommended 'Production Linked Incentives' (#PLI) by the government to entrepreneurs for scaling-up manufacturing & dissemination of #solarpv products in one of my 2002 conference papers on #renewableenergy for #ruraldevelopment. Great to see that's what the government has been doing for the #solar PV sector (as well as other sectors) since the last few years (refer to the last line of the article). Probably, PLI as a scheme was unthinkable by the Indian policy makers in 2002 . India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) applauds the budget outlay of ₹600 Crore to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) for implementation of National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) for FY2024-25 – 6x increase from the previous FY 2023-24. Furthermore, IESA welcomes the Budget 2024-25 announcement of formulation of a roadmap to move the hard-to-abate industrial sectors from ‘energy efficiency’ targets to ‘emissions targets’. The India Energy Storage Week (IESW) is well underway! The International Conference and Exhibition started today (1st July) concluding Friday 5th July in New Delhi and is organised by the India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA). Edina CEO, Adam Bloom, will participate in the 'Energy Storage Tender and Projects in India' panel session on Wednesday 3rd July discussing Battery Energy Storage project challenges and considerations. Edina is an EPC contractor for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and has over 70MWh of contracted BESS projects in the UK and almost 40 years of grid interfacing expertise. We will use the opportunity to meet with commercial and industrial end-users looking to produce and consume their power and cooling on-site using MWM Gas Engines.
