About us
To enhance and deepen cooperation between India and Germany in the energy sector, the German Chancellor and the Indian Prime Minister established the Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF) in April 2006. The process focuses on both promoting private sector activities and putting in place an enabling environment so as to further develop the market for power plant technologies, energy efficiency and renewable energies in India. India and Germany share the concern of adapting energy systems to limit Green House Gas Emissions, while respecting the internationally accepted principle of "common but differentiated responsibilities". Taking into account this principle, Germany has committed to reducing its overall and per capita emissions. India, whose growing economy will require an overall increase in energy supplies, has committed to keeping per capita emissions below the average levels in the developed countries. Thus, both countries aim at increasing reliance on renewable energy sources and improving energy efficiency. Both India and Germany consider that meeting the energy challenge is also an opportunity to become world leaders in one of the 21st century's growth industry: green energy. Thus, both countries have adopted policies to encourage the growth of renewable energy and energy efficiency industries.

Dear Partners, At the PtX Development Fund, KfW Development Bank and KGAL GmbH & Co. KG (KGAL), we were delighted to see more than 500 professionals connected from Brazil, Colombia, India, South Africa, Kenya, Egypt and Morocco to our webinars last week, to prepare for expressions of interest with potentially more than a hundred of green H2 and PtX projects. These information events were a real success and the interest shown by the audience sent a strong signal to the nascent PtX market that the PtX Development Fund is on the right track: contributing to the socio-ecological “just transition” of these emerging economies by promoting clean energy-based large-scale PtX projects. The PtX Development Fund is one of several instruments set up by the KfW PtX Platform (cf. picture below) to provide financial support to bridge the financial gaps and de-risk promising clean H2 and PtX projects in different forms including non-refundable multi-million grants. The second call for expression of interest started on January the 8th and closes on March 5th 2025. More information can be found in the fund's website (in the first comment) and questions or requests for clarification can be sent to info@ptx-development.fund . In this regard, a set of responses to questions already sent will be published over the first week of February 2025. We invite you to look up for them in the "Newsroom" section of the PtX Development Fund website provided above. 👍 Please follow the PtX Development Fund if you wish to be kept informed about the news around the 2nd call for expressions of interest and about the fund in general.
