The Mexican aviation industry has a significant gender diversity issue, with women comprising only a small percentage of pilots and aviation workforce. According to the National Occupation and Employment Survey, in 2023, women pilots in Mexico constituted just 1.67% of all pilots. The lack of female representation extends to flight instructor positions as well. This underrepresentation of women in the industry is part of a larger systemic problem, with fewer than 10% of aerospace-related STEM and engineering careers being held by women. Overall, women are underrepresented in various positions within the aviation industry, with flight attendants and travel agents being the only areas dominated by women. #aicraft #boeing#airbus #aviation #aviationnews #mexiconews#diversity#womenpilots#latestnewstoday

Making people happy through sport photography, sponsor engagement, customer loyalty, and event value for money. Talk to me if you want to make your event one to remember.
I need to rethink my business branding on photos, and overall strategy. And I need your help to tell me how. A wonderful post below, signed off with an incorrectly credited photo, which has been purchased and is sold with the photography company logo across it - and nothing else. Yet the photo is what draws you into the story. Without it the text of the post doesn’t get read. People are happy to pay good money for a photo company branded photo to remember and share their memories and promote their dreams. And what is more - the company putting in the event prefers the economics of event memories (without event info) to be promoted and paid for that way. Which is at odds with how I would like an event I would organise to be remembered. When I see this happening I’m struggling to understand how to sell my business model of the event paying for free downloads for participants- branded with the event information for ongoing customer loyalty and ensuring memories. Without event branding and info and date that photo could be any trail run with a friend, not an iconic 100km race. Putting years, event, logo, sponsors on photos makes it the memory, it drives engagement and alignment and it drives positive memories and also the ideal to repeat an achievement. Customer loyalty in a single image. The unbranded photo can be rolled out every year and is timeless. Without the date - it’s always just last year. With a date - it drives a return to “get a full set”. I honestly wonder what I need to do to explain to the event directors that “dont get it” that branded free event photos are the most effective marketing strategy they can have… all advice welcomed !! DM me or helpful feedback below please !! #event #ultrarunning #eventprofs #marketing #eventmarketing #customerloyalty
As we roll into the weekend, I will mainly be putting the finishing touches to 100km prep AKA race planning over a cuppa & cake ahead of Threshold Sports #RaceToTheStones (13th July) One of the reasons I love racing with the team at Threshold is the focus they put on female inclusion on the trails and their #Ultra 50:50 initiative. "Ultra 50:50 endeavours to achieve gender parity and set new industry standards to inspire, empower and enable more women to take part in events at the toughest end of the running distance spectrum." As a female navigating hormonal change & the unpredictability of monthly cycles, to have female only toilets complete with sanitary products and sanitary products at all info desks, pit stops and inside the toilets, throughout the event is so reassuring and takes a huge worry away. You can read more on their commitments here ➡️https://lnkd.in/eXcCk8Nu The build hasn't been ideal in the last 4-5 weeks but if there is one I have learnt, some things are worth fighting for and as a friend told me, "life is like an ultra, keep putting one foot in front of the other to keep moving forward" Here's to a day on the trails with like-minded others and challenging my limits once again, be inspired & check out the route here ➡️https://lnkd.in/e39XEkmu 📷Photo credit - Race to the King 100km 2023. #MoreIsInYou #UltraRunning #SheRaces #Trails #Inclusion

For those who know me, my passion for motorsport is no secret. But what Extreme E is doing truly has my interest, not just as a fan but as an advocate for equality. Extreme E has introduced a different approach to racing by pairing male and female drivers on each of the 8 teams, challenging and changing the dynamics of motorsport. This isn’t just innovative but it’s a step towards opportunity. Impressively, this initiative has resulted in closing the performance gap between male and female drivers by 50.6% in just three seasons and limited seat time! This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the smaller pool of women in motorsport, many of whom may not have had the same early start in racing as their male counterparts. Yet, Extreme E's format provides a compelling testament to the idea that practice makes perfect. By offering equal track time and opportunities for development, Extreme E is proving that access and practice can dramatically level the playing field showing the world that with the right conditions, anyone can compete at the highest levels, regardless of gender. The race towards gender parity is on, and it’s one we can all join. Read EY's sustainability report here: https://lnkd.in/emSH_jUp 🌍🏎️ #ExtremeE #EqualityInMotion #PracticeMakesPerfect

Equality has always been at the centre of how Extreme E operates as the world’s first gender-equal motorsport format. From day one our teams have consisted of one male and one female driver to ensure wheel-to-wheel racing between all drivers, which has resulted in a 26 per cent narrowing of the male-woman performance gap from Season 1 to Season 2. For 2024 we have gone one step further with our racing format to ensure that the starting drivers between men and women must be equal across the season – ensuring greater frequency of men and women battling it out on track for position. Women also play a crucial role in the whole Extreme E ecosystem up and down the paddock with programmes focused on bringing in and developing girls and women, such as our Racing For All programme. On International Women's Day, we want to highlight the hardworking and talented women in Extreme E and showcase to girls and women everywhere, that there is a place for them in motorsport. As the world’s largest pilots union, ALPA has a long history of advocating for pilots’ rights, safety and security, and working conditions. And beyond this legacy lies a growing community of women breaking barriers and taking flight as leaders within the Association’s ranks. Today, nearly 7 percent of ALPA’s 77,000 members are women, and their impact is undeniable. While the number of women in ALPA has grown significantly—from 2 percent in 1985 when Capt. Mary Mitton (Comair) became the first elected female master executive council (MEC) chair—the airline industry still falls behind. Globally, only 5.2 percent of airline pilots are women. Read more about our union’s “leading women” in this article from the March 2024 issue of Air Line Pilot magazine: https://bit.ly/3VjD5Tz #WomensHistoryMonth #Herstory #WomenInAviation #AviationNews #Aviation
