Are we the only one who sees this machine at our construction sites and thinks it kind of looks like a spider? 🕷️ Maybe if you squint a little? Okay, well, it’s not an arachnid, but it is a way to place concrete! Known as a Concrete Boom Pump Truck, it uses a remote-controlled arm, the boom (💥), to place concrete. And, on construction site, you might hear it referred to as a pump truck or a pump car. But why do we use this machine versus a normal concrete truck, you ask? Great question! It allows large volumes of concrete to be pumped and helps us reach hard to reach places. So, when on a really big construction project like these vehicle maintenance facilities on Camp Humphreys, workers can maneuver around obstacles and reach more places.
