3rd Edition of "Women Leaders for Board" Directory will be released on the eve of "International Women Day" in March 2024. Diversity Hub-HR Metrics is leading the “Women for Board Allies” initiative. It focuses on encouraging women to aspire for board roles and impart a sense of what it takes to get there. It is distinct from Directors Training Program (DTP), which focuses on the knowledge and skills for member board of directors. Diversity Hub’s mission is to empower women by raising awareness regarding social and economic benefits of gender diversity at board level, identify high potential women, connect, and refer them for board director and leadership roles. Today we publish our annual Women Count report, which shines a light on gender balance in FTSE 350 executive committees. The figures are grim. In 2024, women make up half of the UK workforce but hold fewer than a third of executive committee positions, a proportion which has declined for the first time in eight years. This is not because there is a lack of female talent. From our experience with 130 organisations over 12 years, we've seen what really makes a difference in accelerating progress toward greater gender balance in leadership. Fantastic piece of work Liz. We, at The Pipeline are really lucky to have you as CEO. You have steered the team to deliver a great report, and a reminder that investing in your own talent as a business leader is an alternative to having to hire someone else’s! Obviously, as an industry, headhunting relies on, and makes the most of, moving underinvested talent, which the last 30 years has been a joyful norm for me! There is plenty of room for both investing in your own and finding new talent, as there is so much talent out there. The Pipeline programs, however enable businesses to improve retention of great talent through investment, making women bring their best selves to their existing employers so it’s win win. Being on both sides of that drive for women’s empowerment is a privilege - but we must never give up. It’s a long way from “job done”.
