If you’re measuring success the wrong way, you’re missing the point! Olivia McMaster 🎯 Everyone pulling in the same direction – Really loved this from Lucky Saint | B Corp™: their team is made up of mini channel experts, all aligned around shared KPIs. When everyone’s on the same page, magic happens. 🙌 The marketing team and the brand are the glue that ties it all together. 🏗️ Growth vs Structures – Julie Austin pointed out that outdated internal structures are often holding brands back. To move forward, your growth strategy needs to break through those roadblocks. 💡 Understand, Don’t Change Consumer Behaviour – Julie’s spot on again: it’s not our job to change how customers behave. It’s about meeting them where they are. Olivia took it further—focus on customer behaviour and value, not just data overload. ❤️ Measuring Brand Love – Amy Wisniewski had a great point: brand love is what really matters, which is why they measure it. The Lucky Saint Run Club (Yes, I have been and I loved it) they created is a great example—people are there for the community and the vibe, and because they love the brand not just the product. I had the pleasure of attending the Vogue Business "Tradition Meets Transformation" event at the beautiful Corinthia Hotel yesterday, and I wanted to share a few key insights that resonated with me: 1️⃣ Put the Customer First: Fortnum & Mason’s CEO Tom Athron and Huel’s CEO James McMaster both emphasised the importance of tackling core customer pain points as a top priority. By continuously revisiting and addressing these as they scale, they've built stronger customer connections and more resilient brands. 2️⃣ The Power of Community: Belstaff’s new loyalty program is a perfect example—offering customers exclusive experiences, like access to Formula 1 events, has driven a 10% increase in repeat purchases. Customers want more than just products—they want to feel like they’re part of the brand. 3️⃣ Innovation Through AI: Customers don’t always behave the way they say they will! Estée Lauder is using neuroscience to better understand customer emotions and behaviors in testing, helping them develop more intuitive products that resonate with real needs. 4️⃣ Merging Digital and Physical: Sellier’s omnichannel success highlights the power of digital engagement (200M+ TikTok views a year!) combined with an excellent in-store experience. It’s hard to believe we have a year of integration under our belt, and it’s been thrilling to lead the combination of NielsenIQ and GfK - An NIQ Company. With tremendous opportunity comes tremendous change, and change is hard. We all handle it in different ways, and at different paces. One of the most important aspects of transformation, and a key indicator of success, is how well you manage the change. While the organization needs to provide clarity and communication, we as employees also have a part to play. Many people have asked my advice on how to best handle the inevitable uncertainty that comes with a change of this size. And my answer is your mindset. You can see change, big or small, in one of two ways. As negative, disrupting what you’re used to, as happening to you, expecting the worst. Or you can see opportunity, a chance to learn and grow, to make new connections, to expand or shift responsibilities, or share your unique perspective. Your mindset will impact your outcome. We’re not living life, we’re living the life we’re focusing on. Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the Manchester eCommerce Summit, a conference by Retail Summits. The full-day session was extremely insightful and refreshing to hear different perspectives and ideas from different companies, both on large & small scales, within the E-commerce landscape. To highlight just a few of the sessions: 🚀 We delve into the future of eCommerce and discovered emerging trends, with a huge emphasis on personalisation and new technologies that are revolutionising the industry. 📱The walkthrough of the ever evolving landscape of social media was highlighted, where we discussed omnichannel strategies and in particular, the rise of TikTok and how this more authentic and playful platform differs from other social platforms that appear more for polished content. 💁🏽♀️We heard from a couple of women leaders and I found their contributions particularly invaluable and their individual stories they shared were really inspiring. A big thanks to Saffron Seddon for organising the event. I have returned home with some strong takeaways & have sparked lots of new ideas, that I feel even more motivated than before, to implement these & make a difference 💪🏼 #ecommerce #digitaltrends #retailsummits
