Is DMSO-containing cryomedia feasible for scale-up in CGT commercialization? Snowmen become technically challenging as they get bigger. This winter's attempt ended up being very bottom-heavy. I was reading an interesting write-up of a roundtable on "Current issues & future trends in cryopreservation for advanced therapies" (https://lnkd.in/ga7C9CbT). In it, Jason Acker, with the Canadian Blood Services' Centre for Innovation, made the insightful comment about scale up for CGT cryopreservation, "when you start to scale and move from one dose per batch to perhaps tens of thousands of doses per batch, the principles of cryopreservation become even more important because any problematic issues are scaled up, too. For example, the impact of cryoprotectant toxicity can be minimized when exposing one bag of a product. But if you have to expose 10,000 bags, by the time you have gone through the fill-finish and labelling process, that becomes a lot more significant." We are glad to announce the publication of Pathfast 0/2 hour high sensitivity troponin algorithm evaluation by the Swiss research group led by Prof. Müller of the University Hospital Basel . In addition to the 0/1 hour protocol, which has been mentioned in the ESC guidelines for Pathfast since 2020, the new algorithm represents an important milestone for high sensitivity troponin diagnostics with Pathfast. Thus, it could be demonstrated that the POC hs-cTnI-PATHFAST assay allows rapid and effective rule-out and rule-in of NSTEMI using both a 0/1h- and a 0/2h-algorithm with high NPV/sensitivity for rule-out and high PPV/specificity for rule-in.
