SHARE THE LOVE | SHARE THE DOLLARS Indigenous procurement strategies don’t need to stop at welcome to country’s, stationary, uniforms, or mobile plant and labour! 💡Remember to apply a cultural intelligence lens to your entire supply chain when considering how you can deliver on your RAP, ESG, SDG or GAP targets or simply go beyond the acronyms and just buy great Indigenous products because they meet your needs. 💰 Anytime you are planning your budget, looking for a new supplier, planning an event or project or considering a marketing, communication and engagement initiative ask yourself how can you support an Indigenous business. The impact you will have, will go well beyond the initial purchase. ❤️ Share the love when considering your gifting this holiday season or putting together your corporate gift bags and baskets. The Irish drinks sector is a powerhouse of agri-food exports and a driving force of economic activity throughout the island of Ireland, north and south, urban and rural. We are an industry rooted in rural Ireland. Almost 10,000 people are directly employed in our manufacturing and visitor experience centres throughout Ireland. We help support over 170,000 hospitality jobs, 70% of which are based outside Dublin, thus supporting employment in every town and village in the country. We also back about 6,000 jobs in the off-licence sector and many more in our visitor centres. We purchase 300,000 tonnes of grain annually, use about 50,000 tonnes of apples in cider production, and use cream produced from 300 million litres of milk, supporting farming families across our island. Review our Pride of Place policy document and how we support the drinks industry to continue to grow and thrive. https://lnkd.in/evSG2aSa #DrinkResponsibly #economicgrowth #ruraleconomy #PrideofPlace

I love the concept, namely to "show off" a region's traditional foods. However, having lived in Slovenia, a small country with, I can say, not that many "unique" dishes, sometimes fights erupt with bordering countries that have similar, traditional dishes, that turn into diplomatic spats. All of this so that a city, region of country can say something is "theirs", when in fact, it belongs to an area that sometimes lives outside of current day state borders. Perhaps the EU can introduce in the future, or amend those already made, to have cross-border distinguishments. Then this would be a truly EU project. #EU #Food #EuropeanCommission

📢 Celebrating the protection of more than 3,600 unique products through quality schemes in the European Union, including Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). In countries where laws on geographical protection apply, only products that meet the various geographical and quality criteria can use the protected indication, these products must be registered.🍈🍅 🍇🍷Did you know? Three wines from Malta have been awarded the DOK (Denominazzjoni ta’ Oriġini Kontrollata) in english is Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and IĠT (Indikazzjoni Ġeografika Tipika) in english is Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) designation. 🚀 These are the geographical indications from Malta registered in the EU: ✔️Malta or "from Malta" is a DOK (PDO) wine from the island of Malta, which is produced and packaged there with a maximum yield of 84-91 hectolitres/hectare. ✔️ Gozo or "from Gozo" (Maltese: Għawdex or "Ta' Għawdex") is a DOK (PDO) wine from the island of Gozo, with very similar requirements to those of "Malta". ✔️ Maltese Islands or "from the Maltese Islands" is an IĠT (PGI) wine from any of the islands for which higher yields than DOK wines of 120-125 hectolitres/hectare are permitted. #Malta #Wine #PDO #PGI #DOK #FoodEU #Protection #Qualityfood #Geography ▶️https://lnkd.in/d6z2yWFy ▶️https://lnkd.in/ekwkiPD8 ✔️Follow Us Maltese-Spanish Chamber of Commerce

Cultural conflicts are all about dilemmas, so here is one for you - a real one: I live in a small mountain village, where we have a fair amount of tourists in the summer and in the ski season. One of our bakeries is baking all day so there is always fresh bread. But who gets it? In our village everybody knows each other. ➡ Here is how it works: All the locals get the bread that has just come out of the oven, while all the tourists get the oldest bread. What do you think ❓ Is it fair ❓ ✅ One argument is that all customers should be treated the same. ✅ Another argument is that the locals support the bakery all year round and should therefore have some privileges. What do you think ❓ #dilemma #status #privilege
