I did it! I challenged myself to average a book a month related to women in business, women in sports or inclusion in general. I made it through 13 (see below) plus a couple half-reads that will give me a jump start on 2024. I love seeing what themes emerge as I tend to buy what “looks good” or moves me at the time. I obviously was going through a biography phase and have to say #TinaTurner “My Love Story” was the favorite of the bunch. Other noteworthy and inspiring biographies were: 📚 #ursulaburns “Where You Are Is Not Who You Are” 📚 Bozoma Saint John's “The Urgent Life” 📚 Naseem Rochette’s “The Unexpected Benefits of Being Run Over” As for some of my other faves... 📚 Reimagine Inclusion by Mita Mallick - Packed with anecdotes, stories and first-hand experiences, it is very easy to reimagine how managers could have, and should have handled, various workplace situations differently. A quick and impactful read. 📚 Next! by Joanne Lipman – I have reinvented myself multiples times throughout my career and in looking back, I was literally following the frameworks Joan outlines without even realizing I was. A great read for anyone looking for a change. 📚 The Power of Saying No by Vanessa Patrick  - For all of us who know we do too much and don’t want to disappoint. I have been implementing the tools she outlines in this easy read to get more control and agency in my own life. 📚 Hidden Potential by Adam Grant – I really do love a great “pop-science” read and this was a great deep dive into how we can better provide opportunities and look for talent in places that we may have overlooked. 📚 Money Power Respect by Macaela MacKenzie fed my passion for the importance and impact of sports for women. And the bonus of all of this is that I had the honor of hosting 4 of these authors for events for Rutgers Center for Women in Business!

Last summer, we embarked on this goal of leading deep, interactive, and thought-provoking workshops that leave attendees not only with advice, but clear steps they can immediately implement to power forward in their lives. We don't just want to talk. We want to move to the needle so that we reach gender equity in this decade and have some fun along the way. Since then, we visited the Northeastern University, the National Basketball Association (NBA), ESPN, and the Boston Celtics. Here is some feedback that we received that let us know we are headed in the right direction: "This workshop was very informative in all aspects. I love how we went through a timeline of the history of NIL in sports from the perspective of an entrepreneur as well as someone with an accredited background in law. It was an all-around incredible and knowledgeable experience, and I feel like everyone walked away with a new nugget of information." - Northeastern D1 Women's Basketball Athlete
