Last month, our team had the opportunity to fly the Chaparral at the U.S. Army Yuma Proving Grounds. In 100 degree temperatures, our team flew the Chaparral and demonstrated its cargo handling capabilities as a system that could autonomously resupply forward-deployed ground forces for the U.S. Marine Corps. #cargodrones #hVTOL #logistics

Has Chaparral performed a transition to date?
Awesome aircraft DoD where are you? Let's go! This is tech worthy of development.
I spent many many weeks on that runway and in those hangars.

3wThis is an intriguing configuration for the given logistics mission as I understand it. Did anyone happen to record the noise levels with and without payload during your Yuma testing? I am curious and we do a great deal of experimental and computational research work with eVTOL here at Penn State VLRCOE. We also study variable speed fixed pitch propellers very carefully. They are generally challenging in forward flight. We would be happy to compare our predictions with measured flight data if you are interested.
