Happy Labor Spring! CLJE is proud to be a part of #LaborSpring🌹2024, a diverse, nationwide movement unifying workers, educators, environmentalists, activists, elected leaders, and community members in a multi-racial effort to demand justice on the job, racial equity, and maintain the public good. Launched in 2023 by Georgetown University’s Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor, the nation's largest coordinated movement of campus and community-based labor actions includes campus teach-ins, panel discussions, film screenings, rallies, and more.

Join us for “Labor’s Moment in 2024,” a lunchtime #LaborSpring event with CLJE Fellow Mark Erlich on March 27th at 12:20pm, WCC 2004 at Harvard Law School. Co-sponsored with the Labor and Employment Action Project, the talk will tackle the disparity between the renewed energy we’ve seen in the labor movement and the decreasing union density in the United States. What does this say about the state of the labor movement in 2024? Does labor law simply present too many hurdles for unions to reverse this trend? Erlich will discuss the significance of this moment, in the context of this critical election year, and what it will take for labor to turn the tide on decades of decline. Afterwards, Professors Sharon Block and Benjamin Sachs will join a panel discussion with Erlich.
