🌟 Meet Emily, a passionate science teacher who embarked on a transformative Summer Project journey with us! 🗨️ "I would 100% recommend Summer Projects. I gained more than I thought I would. I found it really interesting," she shares. 📚 Emily dove into researching Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) policies and parental engagement strategies, contributing to improvements in schools. "Our work has made it easier for schools to quickly find gaps and make changes that will massively improve their own policies and practices," she reflects. 🗨️ "Sometimes schools can feel pretty isolated. Our work highlighted how crucial the connection between head teachers, staff, and other schools is." Great opportunities

Here it is! No longer waiting in the wings, I am so excited to announce the official launch of The Jaguar Athenaeum (Atha-nee-um). Wow, it has been a long time coming. I began this project, or, I should say, the idea of this project, a little before freshmen year. I knew that I wanted to complete my Girl Scouts of the USA Girl Scout Gold Award. Girl Scouts had always been a place that taught me that my age didn't determine if I could create incredible, and impactful, projects. As my love for the arts grew, as well as my passion for leadership, management, and graphic design, I knew I wanted to create something to help today's, and hopefully tomorrow's, youth. As a child, and even now, as a teenager, I hear all too often to just "wait until you're older". People didn't take my ideas seriously, even when I presented them in that manner, merely because of my age. Now, in high school, I face a similar challenge. Despite the internet and thousands upon thousands of articles, blog posts, YouTube videos, and more, I felt lost and confused trying to figure out a timeline for my high school career. I was tired of spending hours trying to find even the smallest of information that was relevant to me. It was exhausting---and as someone who has spent their free time doing deep dives into jobs and careers from age 10, that's saying something. Eventually, I started to toy with the idea of creating what would soon become the Athenaeum. After a year of research, of figuring out how in the world I would do it, I created The Jaguar Athenaeum club. There is so much I could say about the Athenaeum, and about the incredibly dedicated and talented team that made it a possibility, but I'll just say this: The Jaguar Athenaeum was created to connect youth in the arts, locally, and eventually beyond, not only to each other, but to the industry. In the age of connection, of information, we refined it to create a handbook to act as a mentor to artistic hopefuls in written, visual, and performative arts. To provide opportunity and knowledge for zero cost, available to everyone, everywhere. We weren't sure if it was possible. This was our pilot issue, our way to test if we would be able to pull something like this off. We did. And we're only just getting started. 🎓🌟 Celebrating National First Generation College Day: Empowering Dreams at College Possible Chicago! 🌟🎓 Today, as we commemorate National First Generation College Day, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude to be a part of an organization that is making a profound impact on the lives of first-generation college students. 🌟 First Generation, but NOT Last! 🌟 For many of our students, the path to higher education is uncharted territory, and the journey is filled with challenges that might seem insurmountable. Yet, they stand resilient, driven by a fierce determination to break barriers and build a brighter future for themselves and their families. These students are the embodiment of the spirit that says, "I may be the first in my family to go to college, but I won't be the last." 🎯 Let's Continue the Journey 🎯 As we celebrate National First Generation College Day, let's not forget that our work is far from finished. We must continue to advocate for educational equity, foster a culture of inclusion, and provide opportunities for every student to reach their full potential. What advice would you give to a Year 12 student about preparing themselves for the future?

To accept and appreciate the wrong pronunciation / accent for the Spoken English Learners from the beginning is the right and the most effective method to teach and learn English to speak rapidly and fluently! Because the accent or right pronunciation issue of teaching or training culture in language learning is in fact the prime cause to create shyness, fear and disappointment among the learners and ultimately destroy their desire and dream to learn speak English and it also true for the learners of any other foreign languages are taught through English! Whereas the more languages a person will learn, the more that person could beyond the border without barrier! Again the more languages a person if be learnt; the more knowledge, wisdom, informative, competent and sensible / smart Leader would that person be!

I am seeking your help as I scout out participants for a research study I am engaging in as part of my doctoral studies at the University of Florida’s College of Education; Teachers, Schools, and Society program. Please help me to share this post so that I can expand my reach for possible candidates! The qualifications are listed below: I’m interested in gathering the stories of people who persisted academically despite adversity during adolescence. I believe by hearing the voices of people who persisted through adversity during the critical developmental stage of adolescence, we will discover more about the people, programs, resources, and supports that helped them develop their resiliency. I’m looking for 3-5 adults who … 1. Identified with multiple layers of diverse demographics during their childhood (gender, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, living arrangement, parental education, etc.) 2. Experienced adversity during adolescence (roughly 12-16 years old) 3. Pursued and accomplished post-secondary education, anything beyond high school diploma or GED. (Completed certification, licensure, vocational training, college/university degree, etc.) 4. Are willing to share their stories! For those of you who see this post and do not know me, the link below is my story that I shared with over 4500 participants in the summer of 2022. If after viewing my story, you would like to share your story of resilience and persistence through adversity you had as an adolescent, I encourage you to complete the preliminary participant information questions to see if you might be a qualifying candidate for this research.
