This week, we are shining a spotlight on women in construction. Take a look at the fantastic work my colleague Erika is doing at Pavco Wavin Perú. However, this is not just about the construction industry. Across all sectors, we must continue to focus on inclusivity and diversity. 🎉 This week we are celebrating and promoting the role of women in the construction industry! Our colleague ERIKA RAMOS BUTRÓN has broken new ground as the first female leader in a Latin American construction company. Her achievement resolves misconceptions and highlights the strength and capability of women in construction and leadership roles. Erika's journey inspires us, proving that with talent and determination, no ceiling is too high. Here's to celebrating #WomenInConstruction and paving the way for future leaders. 🚀 #Leadership#BreakingBarriersNational Association of Women in Construction
So well deserved and believe me we had quite some discussion about her current role that she has what it takes to make it happen and lead and she took the challenge 😉
Many of our programs can be tailored to fit your company or organization, and that’s what we’ve done in our partnership with Women in Aviation. Rising women leaders across the aviation industry came together to take Women in Leadership.
Here’s what participants who completed the program had to say:
Thank you #CIONETUK for hosting this great evening. It was a pleasure
to co-chair the discussion on the impact of the maelstrom of disruption that we face today - political, economic, socio-cultural and technological - and the
subsequent discussion on how we support and develop digital talent, in
particular female talent.
Many great thoughts came out of the evening but things which resonated most with me were: how impactful mentorship and support for fellow females in tech can be; how critical it is for technologists to be able to educate and to manage change, in order to really land benefit from technology; how short-termism is a perennial constraint to technology advancement and longer term growth; and how, despite having been through an unprecedented pandemic, many un-regulated industries still aren’t paying much attention to risk. Most critically however, the room was buzzing with female leaders hungry to make a difference in the world! 👏
#CIONETUK hosted its first Female Leader Forum dinner this week and what a dinner it was. It was an absolutely pleasure to be sat in a room with some of the most influential women within Technology. Chaired by the amazing Maureen Wedderburn and Faye Roth it was an evening of great conversation with amazing women. I look forward to many more.

🌟 Excited to extend a huge thank you to CIONET for hosting the groundbreaking Female Leader Forum event! 🚀 Kudos to Candice Baptiste for pulling together some hugely inspirational female powerhouses across industry and Sean Foley for the sponsorship, hosting and jukebox maestro!
It was an incredible opportunity to delve into crucial topics like PEST analysis, shedding light on the Political, Economic, Societal, and Technological landscape. From navigating NHS complexities to exploring the intersection of AI and ESG, our discussions were both enlightening and inspiring.
Bold and brave leadership emerged as a key theme, alongside the importance of attracting and retaining talent in our rapidly evolving digital world. Addressing issues like digital literacy and digital poverty underscored the urgent need for action and collaboration across industries to drive a step change.
Delving into the future, we tackled critical challenges such as AI's impact on political dynamics and the regulatory landscape. The discussions on risk planning, including worst-case scenario scenarios like wars and pandemics, provided valuable insights for strategic preparedness.
Moreover, we confronted the issue of political inertia, recognising the imperative to drive change despite uncertainty - every organisation should be holding ethical responsibility higher than waiting for the policy to catch up. As we look to nurture the next generation of talent, CIONET's role in bridging the gap between technical expertise and commercial acumen cannot be overstated.
From addressing digital poverty in schools and universities to fostering alliances and providing mentorship, there's much work to be done. Giving and receiving feedback emerged as crucial tools for growth and development, highlighting the power of collective support.
Thank you, CIONET, for spearheading this important dialogue and paving the way for a more inclusive and innovative future in technology leadership! 💼 #WomenInTech#Leadership#Innovation#CIOLeadership
