Thank you to everyone that said “No” along the way. Such an important moment to reflect when someone says no when an opportunity presents itself. No can mean a lot of things. It may mean you aren’t ready, you don’t see the big picture, or it can mean you have the opportunity to grow by reflecting and responding with positive results that allow the growth necessary to elevate your success at the next level. Seek the feedback. Lean in. And growth will be the result when you get outside your comfort zone and level up. Keep pushing. #growth #leadership
Thank you for saying no to me.

I am embarrassed to say that I have been guilty of this. Ugh, that hurt to say out loud. In a world where things change rapidly due to technological advances and now A.I. We must adapt and challenge ourselves to stay current. How do you do that? Here are my top two strategies: 📖 READ. (Every day). Read newsletters, industry magazines, blogs, etc. 🌐 Attend conferences and seminars. There are also low cost options at your local chamber of commerce. Every successful business owner and leader need to have a thirst for knowledge. You must be intentional about seeking new ways of doing things. I suggest that every quarter you spend a few hours reviewing your systems and processes and asking yourself and your team tough questions about if your way is still serving you. Be curious, be humble and growth minded. Have a great day!

Was just reading the foreword by Doug Tallamy...WOW! Here's a small sample... “Every once in a while, a book comes along that meets an important need most people don’t know they have. Sarah Jayne’s Nature’s Action Guide is such a book. Sarah could have called her book Conservation for Dummies—not that she wrote it for true dummies, but because she has identified a subject everyone needs to know but almost no one was ever taught: how to share our spaces with the natural world.” … “Sarah wrote Nature’s Action Guide as a complement to my book Nature’s Best Hope. My last chapter suggested 10 things homeowners could/should do to help share their property with nature. After reading my book, Sarah set about trying to enact each of these suggestions in her own yard but quickly realized that, even as an experienced gardener, she didn’t know enough to be successful. And if she didn’t know enough, many other budding conservationists were likely to struggle as well. Sarah’s solution was to write Nature’s Action Guide, a step-by-step, easy to use manual that explains how each of us, regardless of our background or gardening experience, can accomplish all of the goals I propose in Nature’s Best Hope, as well as several I only hinted at! Restoration biology is a relatively young scientific discipline a few decades old. Practicing restoration in human-dominated landscapes, in comparison, is in its infancy and we are still learning what works and what doesn’t work. One of its many distinguishing features is that Nature’s Action Guide is current, explaining state-of-the-art conservation in suburbia with the most up-to-date best-practices available. Even a half-hearted attempt to follow Sarah’s action items is guaranteed to improve the biodiversity potential of your landscape and thus the productivity of your local ecosystem. For this, we all owe Sarah Jayne our heartfelt thanks and gratitude—because, whether we appreciate it or not, we all depend on those same ecosystems.” Douglas W. Tallamy

Positive Psychology Specialist | Well-being Practitioner, Mindset Coach | Feel Good Friday slot on Roy Basnett’s show on Liverpool Live Radio | Podcaster | Creator of RISE Resilience ✨
Day 3 BBM Challenge Thank you cards ✨ Thank you today and what better way to illustrate than some of my lovely recent gifts? ☺️ Did I really hear an audible groan when you read the title or is that just my kids? Yep, you kinda knew where I was going with yesterday’s prompt right? This is it. From the list of gift-giving family and friends that you reflected on yesterday, choose one and write them a thank you note for your thoughtful and lovely Christmas gift. I’m talking old school pen and paper here. And then, either give it to them by hand or post it – yep old school again with snail mail. 📮 Then sit back and bask in your thoughtfulness. Feels good hey? And here’s the cool thing about this task: the science backs it up. Expressing gratitude by giving a card or letter or meeting face to face, sparks off a chain reaction that has a positive impact on both giver and receiver. For the receiver, the fact that they feel appreciated encourages them to engage in further pro-social behaviour and for the giver, they joy of taking the time to acknowledge their gift makes them more inclined to give gifts themselves. Another gorgeous win, win loop all round. What’s not to love? ☺️ Don't forget : Gratitude practice Strength spotting 20 minutes outdoor exercise 😊
