The IT function requires broader and deeper knowledge and expertise in today’s digital business world. For Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), this means a shift in how those functions are filled. It is riskier and more challenging to have a non-IT professional perform all necessary IT functions. It is no surprise then that one of the insights in the JumpCloud Your Route to Positive Client Interactions ebook is 76% of SMEs are using Managed Service Providers (MSPs) for at least some IT functions and most are planning to increase their investment in utilizing MSPs. The evolution of how SMEs utilize MSPs has been an interesting one to watch. It started out that MSPs were rarely used by SMEs. Then there was a trend toward outsourcing the entire IT function. As noted in the JumpCloud SME IT Trends report, MSPs are more often used for IT functions that require specific or deeper knowledge and expertise, especially in the area of security and infrastructure. The ebook explores why this trend is occurring and offers guidance to MSPs on how to demonstrate their value and create strong, long-lasting client relationships The ebook is a great read if you own or work for an MSP.
