Ever hear about "Parallel Seismic Testing" but not really sure what it dose? Allow me to shed some light on the situation: 💡 Parallel Seismic is a widely-used method to assess the depth of existing deep foundations and other subsurface structures without causing damage. To perform the test, a borehole is dug, extending beyond the expected length of the structure. A PVC access tube is installed and filled with water. A precise hydrophone is slowly lowered down the tube to record readings. At the surface, the foundation is struck, creating stress waves (P-Wave) received by the hydrophone. The test continues until the hydrophone can no longer detect stress waves, allowing engineers to determine the length of the unknown foundation. Do you have foundations with an unknown depth. For injection of CO2 into a saline aquifer, which is the case in the Northern Lights project offshore Norway, pressure management is very important. It is the pressure build-up during CO2 injection that will ultimately determine how much of the liquid can be stored in the reservoir. As soon as the fracture pressure of the overlying sealing unit is reached, injection will need to stop. And probably a little earlier than that to build in a safety margin."

Luis da Silva, Managing Director, highlighted, “During the March Quarter, the South Harz team has continued to work tirelessly to progress the Ohmgebirge PFS, which is expected to be complete in the next few weeks. Any vision of a clean energy transportation future actually begins underground – deep underground where the essential rare earth metals needed to build and power non-polluting vehicles are found.   So it was great to see Canada’s “first, original, full-build, zero-emission concept vehicle,” Project Arrow (projectarrow.ca), at the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) 2024 convention, the international mining event held annually in Toronto.   Launched by the Automotive Parts Manufacturers' Association (APMA), the car was developed by a broad public-private partnership. Its name honours the innovative heritage of Canada’s revolutionary Arrow fighter jet, which (to deep dismay) was scrapped in February 1959. The display allows visitors to see a sophisticated, finished product amid the natural input resources required for its creation. It therefore shows what imagination and resolve can produce when intelligent minds apply ingenuity to raw materials.   The future often feels unsettled.
