Enbridge has made progress in advancing our Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan. We understand the importance of economic Indigenous partnership, which is why we have committed to a goal of an additional $1 billion in Indigenous business spend by 2030. While we have made progress, we recognize more work must be done.
It's inspiring to see the dedication Enbridge has towards Indigenous partnerships and economic inclusion.
Your commitment to advancing the Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan is commendable.

🧡Honoring Truth and Reconciliation: A Personal Reflection
Every time I see the colorful ribbons on the beautiful skirts and the tops of the tipis on the Stampede grounds, it reminds me of the rich culture that have shaped this land.
And when the cold of -30°C bites through my bones, I often think about the humble wisdom and the remarkable resilience of the Indigenous Peoples who first called this land home.
As someone who was once new to Calgary, understanding the significance of Indigenous history and culture took time. And I’m still learning.
Important days like Truth and Reconciliation Day helped me to grasp the deep pain and challenges faced by Indigenous communities.
These moments of reflection have helped me grow, both personally and through the work I do with Calgary Catalyst
As Calgary continues to grow as a hub for innovation, it’s crucial that we not only focus on technological progress but also ensure that Indigenous communities and voices are part of the conversation.
We can commit to creating spaces where everyone—Indigenous Peoples, newcomers, and long-standing communities—can thrive in the Calgary ecosystem.
By integrating Indigenous knowledge, wisdom, and partnerships, we can build a more sustainable, inclusive, and socially responsible economy for future generations.

Effective permitting reform requires nuanced understanding, particularly in areas of indigenous cultural significance. The concept of free, prior, and informed consent, which underpins self-determination in indigenous communities, will continue to gain importance to public and private entities as they develop mineral assets across borders.

From Wetlands International Europe, we are calling the European Union to lead by example and sign a #WetlandPartnership with partner countries to sustainably manage and restore the world’s most important wetlands, to reduce their degradation and contribute to sustainable, inclusive economies and societies globally #wetlandsmatter
Despite their importance, #wetlands have been over-exploited, degraded and destroyed for decades.
Wetlands are being lost at alarming rates. They are our most threatened ecosystem, disappearing three times faster than forests.
We need to ACT NOW. They deserve attention and recognition.
Healthy landscape scale wetland systems – such as lakes, peatlands, mangroves, river floodplains, coasts, deltas – are climate superheroes. They are nature-based solutions (NBS) fundamental to address interlinkages between climate, biodiversity, environment, development and
peace and security and contribute to solve the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution.
The first global stocktake recognises the critical role of protecting, conserving and restoring water and water-related
ecosystems in delivering climate adaptation benefits and co-benefits while ensuring social and environmental safeguards.
EU #WetlandPartnerships are the right tool to support communities, empower women, train young people, create job opportunities while sustainably managing their water ecosystems.

Today, on Truth and Reconciliation Day, we pause to reflect on the deep history and enduring legacy of Indigenous Peoples across Canada. In British Columbia, we acknowledge the painful truths of our past— it is our shared responsibility to listen, learn, and engage in meaningful dialogue to foster healing and unity.
Maven Consulting is a proud partner of SPAL General Constructors, a company wholly owned by Tsleil-Waututh First Nation (TWN). This partnership underscores Maven’s commitment to respecting Indigenous sovereignty and promoting equitable economic opportunities for Indigenous peoples.
The partnership between Maven Consulting and the Tsleil-Waututh First Nation exemplifies the positive impact that collaboration between industry and Indigenous communities can have on economic development and reconciliation.
Let this day remind us to continue the work of reconciliation, not just today, but every day. We honor the strength, resilience, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples, and commit to building a future rooted in respect, understanding, and equity.

As part of a global EBRD's annual meeting taking place in Yerevan, I was invited to talk about the current challenges of civil society and ways to increase its impact in the region. I had to highlight that the world is moving further towards uncertainty and uncivility, where all the values fought for so far decline into instability and chaos, and, in the situation of poly-crises, we have to multiply efforts and maintain the grip for values such as: rights to life and freedoms, equal opportunities, social justice, inclusion, non-discrimination and, humanity. And that is the role of the civil society yesterday, today and for tomorrow.
🌟 Today, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Erin Collins and Josh McLean at CBC News for amplifying our Chairman Robert Morin's voice and highlighting Project Reconciliation's pivotal role in Indigenous ownership of Trans Mountain.
💼 "The one thing that we all agree on, we do deserve a share of the revenue based off the resources being sold on our territory. What these initiatives are trying to change are those economic opportunities for the respective First Nations to share in the revenue base. Every First Nation has managed poverty since the signing of treaties and since the establishment of this country. That has to change," emphasizes Chairman Morin.
🌿 With Trans Mountain ownership, we're not merely talking about profits; we're discussing empowerment. Indigenous communities deserve a say in safeguarding our environment and shaping our collective future.
🌱 Through the Indigenous Sovereign Wealth Fund, we're securing generational prosperity, ensuring financial stability for today and tomorrow. Our model prioritizes transparent dialogue and respect for Indigenous rights, empowering communities through informed decision-making.
💼 Our unique approach guarantees equitable equity interest for participating Indigenous Nations, fostering collaboration and collective knowledge. By creating a new economic table for Indigenous voices, economic reconciliation becomes the path to true reconciliation.
🌊 With majority ownership, Indigenous communities gain control over environmental stewardship, ensuring the protection of our land for future generations. Our collaborative governance structures, incorporating Indigenous ways of knowing, benefit all Canadians.
💰 Notably, Indigenous communities won't require any upfront community money to purchase Trans Mountain. Bonds secured by tolls will be utilized, with approximately $430 million in annual revenue available to all communities after debt and operational costs are covered.
👏 Thank you CBC News, for shedding light on this transformative journey towards economic sovereignty and reconciliation. Together, we're paving the way for a brighter future for Indigenous communities across Canada.
