https://lnkd.in/eCvkPhRv Axial Flux Motors Are The Future Of Electric Propulsion! #amg #evcars #axialfluxmotors #yasa ✅ Subscribe to our Channel to learn more about the top Technologies: https://bit.ly/3Cypbn1 ▶️ Watch Trending Videos https://lnkd.in/gzJ22yMV https://lnkd.in/gYtMuXj8 When compared with a radial flux motor, which is about 400 newton metres, weighing 50kg with 25-30 kg of iron, the Axial Flux Motor is similar in diameter, but about 1/6 of the length, about 4 x the torque density. That gives opportunities to package motors in new places in vehicles, and reduce weight, mass & therefore cost. The YASA Axial topology and the removal of 60-80% of the stators mass removing the heavy iron yoke, and as many other metals as possible, enables up to 480 bhp, from a 24kg motor, which occupies much less space than a radial equivalent. One of the breakthroughs in Tims PHD was the new topology called the YASA Machine (Yokeless And Segmented Armature). #Mercedes #byd #automotive #automobile #carmanufacturers #elonmusk #tesla #byd

🚀 (Another) Technology front break through Two weeks ago, we stated “The market in high performance 21700 cells is evolving at an incredible pace.” Not too much to add here given that we just integrated two new 21700 cells that boost the technical level of cylindrical cells by adopting the innovative design of tabless current collection: The INR2170-45D(B) from BAK’s full-tab 2170 cell series checks in at 248 Wh/kg and 2.12 kW/kg, while the EVE Energy 21700 40PL is designed towards even more power: With 233 Wh/kg and 2.35 kW/kg, the 40PL extends the technology front of 21700 cells in the Batemo Cell Explorer. Given the urgent need for cells with ultra-low internal resistance for many application scenarios such as eVTOLs, electric two-wheelers and portable storage, it is safe to say that this is not the last update that we will see in the next time. CCA and VRLA Batteries: CCA- Cold Cranking Ampere, normally taken or estimated @-18 degree celcius. Is it so important universally in all lead acid batteries? Around 50% knows it is meant for automotive version of batteries. Then question arise, does all automotive version of batteries need particular CCA? May not be! But still we may agree that if particular battery is able to give certain CCA, then it can work anywhere both in polar as wel as in tropical region. But one thing need to be noted is that, if we are concentrating only on CCA, then we are sacrificing some of other feathers of batteries. So wherever it is needed we need to provide CCA near to that value+ 5-10% more. Nowadays BS6 version of vehicle have become common. BS6 vehicles are fuel efficient, carbutettor less, using fuel injector, which needs more power for starting or cranking. So obviously more cranking powered batteries are needed

Mobility technology company AVL is partnering with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, the high-performance arm of Red Bull Racing Group, to develop the next generation of ultra-high-power density #fuelcell technology. The lightweight solutions are expected to be two-thirds lighter than conventional fuel cell systems. This collaboration combines AVL’s portfolio of PEM fuel cell technology and Red Bull’s winning technologies and novel methodologies in lightweight design, construction, and aerodynamics. This project is expected to deliver a fuel cell system for high-performance application that exceeds those currently available globally. Joint investigations indicate that upon successful completion, dramatic improvements in gravimetric power density can be achieved with values towards 6kW/kg on stack level and 2kW/kg on fuel cell system level. This technology has the potential to result in the world’s highest gravimetric power density PEM fuel cell system, according to the two companies. The solutions to be achieved would be a significant milestone in net-zero carbon technology innovation, enabling sectors such as #aerospace, future #motorsport series, and a multitude of other maximum payload applications to have the #power density figures required in #hydrogen #mobility.

Will we have the ICE-based vehicles (#ICEV) 🔥 banned out from Europe starting with 2035? I don't know... Much ink has been spilled on this subject. Whether it will be done or not, the struggle is to reduce as much as possible the CO2 emission of our passenger cars. Before full electrification ⚡, #hybridization is one way to achieve this goal, as we all know. On this particular topic (#HEV), Nissan's e-POWER HEV system uses a variable compression ratio (#VCR) engine, which I have to say surprised me in some degree... considering the cost... Anyway, technically speaking, it seems to be a nice solution to approach the trade-off between the fuel efficiency and the output performance. In other words, with such a VCR engine, Nissan achieved high output with the low compression ratio while maintaining high fuel efficiency by setting a high compression ratio during fixed-point operation. I felt to write on this topic because when the European decline of the ICEV 🚗 began (2015), I thought that such marvels of engineering will no longer be in our focus. #Nissan however decided to continue using its VCR mechanism, and that made me happy 😊 Professor Vasile HARA (He is no longer amongst us 😢. He was THE professor for myself and I thank him), myself together with our dear French colleagues (georges descombes and pierre podevin) worked quite a lot on a VCR engine. Many patents and publications have been written regarding our VCR mechanisms. The last one is entitled "Investigation on the response time of a self-regulation variable compression ratio engine" and deals with the response time during the transition from the maximum compression ratio to the minimum one. Here's the article: https://lnkd.in/dVi-xRT5 Please, check on the comments to see the basic principles of our own VCR mechanism (animations)

In a climate where opinions on internal combustion engines (ICE) versus electric powertrains are sharply divided, the Oilstainlab HF-11 certainly stands out! The HF-11, a 2000-pound hypercar, features swappable powertrains: a 650-hp internal combustion engine and an 850-hp electric motor, with rev capability of up to 12,000 rpm. The swapping system called Thunder-Volt, isn't really a powertrain swap, its a subframe exchange, which enables drivers to switch configurations at home with minimal adjustments, based on their preference. Could this unconventional concept help drive some fresh perspective for those on the fence? A prototype of the HF-11 is set to launch in spring 2025, with a limited batch of 25 vehicles to follow in 2026. Read more about this hypercar "Made by and for Maniacs" here: https://lnkd.in/eGKyNuHJ #electrification #transportation #electricpowertrain #movetoelectric #automotive #DualPowertrain #FutureOfTransport

Load point shifting is one of the benefits with hybridization of combustion engines where engine load can be optimized using the electric motor as generator. Dynamic Motor Drive (DMD) proposed by Tula Technology is a similar idea where torque request of the electric motor can be changed via torque modulations in order to increase low-torque efficiency of an electric motor. Here we present our latest paper where we investigate the powertrain efficiency improvements for 2WD and AWD systems with torque modulations as well as aspects of EDU durability, driver comfort, and NVH. Some of the mains findings include: • Low efficiency at low torque is effectively sidestepped. • Insignificant impact on powertrain durability is shown. • Proposed modulation strategy shows better powertrain efficiency and driver comfort. • The benefits of torque modulation are more pronounced in dual motor powertrain. Thank You Yu Xu, Shino George, Andreas Andersson, Pär Ingelström, Anton K., and David Sedarsky for the collaboration. This work is part of a FFI project supported by Swedish Energy Agency between Chalmers University of Technology, Zeekr Technology Europe, and InfiMotion Technology.
