𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐬 (𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐-𝟐𝟎𝟑𝟎) Global #CleanEnergy funding is projected to total $5.6 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 between 2022 and 20230, driven by the need for alternative sources to coal, oil, and other carbon-intensive energy sources. While this investment is essential for mitigating #ClimateChange, according to S&P Global, climate funding will still fall short of reaching the goals laid out in the #ParisAgreement. This graphic shows where this investment is projected to be allocated to over the next decade, based on forecasts from S&P Global. 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗯𝘆 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲 By 2030, #SolarEnergy is forecast to see $2.8 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 in global clean energy investment, the most across #RenewableEnergy sources. This investment in #solar accounts for nearly half of the global total, with 26% going to smaller-scale “distributed” #SolarSystems, such as rooftop #SolarPanels across households, businesses, and other public institutions. Comparatively, utility-scale solar is estimated to see 23% of incoming funding by 2030. #WindPower, falling next in line, is projected to attract the next largest slices of investment, totaling $1.9 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣. More of the investment is slated to go #OnshoreWind projects (20%), while #OffshoreWind —which generates power on #WindFarms built across bodies of water—is set to receive $774.2 𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 or 14% of estimated funds. Both the U.S. and the European Union have created incentives for offshore-wind companies, including new tax credits from the Treasury Department. Overall, current S&P Global forecasts expect $700 𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧 of renewable energy investment through 2050. However, under a #NetZero model, an annual figure of $1.4 trillion would be needed to reach #ZeroEmissions by 2050. "Humanising Energy" is the World Energy Councils slogan for the changes the energy landscape is seeing. The world is in turmoil and so is the #energy landscape, too. This holds true especially for energy #grids. The World Energy Council this week revealed the World Energy Issues Monitor 2024. Based on questioning around 1,800 energy #leaders in over 100 countries, the World Energy Issues Monitor mirrors every year the mood of our #industry worldwide – 2024 for the 14th time. It nicely depicts #uncertainties and certainties that keep energy leaders awake at night or busy at theirs desks. For the #transmission and #distribution grid companies the outcome is clear - they are standing the center of global attention 🎯   ⚡ Transmission Grids, Infrastructure Planning and Energy Storage are three of the Top6 Topics curated to have the greatest #impact on the energy world ⚡   Overall the main issues identified are summarised by the World Energy Council as follows:   👉 Old and new geopolitical agendas are vying for pole position 👉 Energy security concerns have evolved beyond conventional supply side security to demand driven shocks and disruptions and the impacts of climate change 👉 Investor confidence in de-risking clean energy investment has grown significantly 👉 Key technologies are emerging as pivots in energy transitions, disrupting the energy landscape 👉 Transmission grid strengthening and expansion, as well as more flexible energy storage solutions, including demand management, are globally recognised areas of focus and action. 👉 Climate action priorities, encompassing mitigation, adaptation, and compensation, vary across regions 👉 New mixes of policy and regulations are needed to manage the multiple objectives in redesigning energy for people and planet. 👉 Social transformation gains momentum: demands for shared benefits, social inclusivity and justice increasingly influence energy strategies.   For energy infrastructure operators around the world this moves them even further to the center of attention 📢 They need to manage balance uncertainties within the processes of   🔧 Decarbonisation 🔧 Digitalising 🔧 Decentralisation 🔧 Disruption 🔧 Diversification   While “Humanising Energy” – as the WEC puts it.
