#California’s San Joaquin Valley is in a unique position to benefit from the clean energy transition given its existing industry, land, skilled workforce, and clean energy resources. The transition also presents an opportunity to address some of the significant challenges the region faces, including water constraints, transitioning agricultural land, pollution, and socio-economic disparities.    This report is the culmination of a year-long effort led by Clean Air Task Force to engage local leaders on what a clean energy future might look like for the #SanJoaquinValley. Congrats to Solar United Neighbors, The Nature Conservancy, and SELF for Securing $156 Million EPA Grant in Solar for All Initiative! The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s Solar for All competition is awarding $7 billion through up to 60 grants to states, territories, Tribal governments, municipalities, and nonprofits. These awards will bring solar energy ownership and direct electric bill savings to historic numbers of low-income and disadvantaged communities through the Inflation Reduction Act.   ☀ Solar United Neighbors (SUN) (2023 Cohort) is a nonprofit facilitating solar co-ops for collective home solar panel installations, aiming for an inclusive, sustainable energy future where communities benefit directly and every roof harnesses solar power.
