Why A ‘Lay Low' DEI Strategy Is Especially Bad Right Now Politicized attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion have frightened many educational, military, and corporate leaders. Executives don't want their organizations to be targets of unnecessarily polarizing, headline-grabbing schemes to mislead the public about DEI. Some are therefore running scared, renaming, and not calling attention to their DEI initiatives. This strategy isn't what our democracy needs right now. A great question and a decent article. Maybe because its not...never has been... never will be? Diversity (and Inclusivity) in our Military -- simply for diversity's (and inclusivity's) sake -- is worthless. Absolutely WORTHLESS. The true strength of the US Military comes from the technical / tactical / operational skills, the common understanding and implementation of purpose, tasks, and procedures and the selflessness, dedication, pride-of-belonging and professionalism of its individual members. Ultimately, these allow each and every service member to realize that they are part of organizations so much more, so much greater, than the mere sum of their various parts. This epiphany sets the conditions that allows one to become a member in good-standing of the Profession of Arms -- aka as "STRENGTH" to the uninitiated, naive and clueless. Yes Virginia, just those things - it really is that simple. Those are the things that create, foster, nurture, refine, espouse, and expand the true individual and collective strength of the US Military on an enduring basis. Those things. Nothing else. Assuming -- like the DEI puppeteers and other agenda-driven, identity politics lemmings have done -- that the strength somehow automatically stems simply from the color of folk's skin, their religion, their gender or their "gender fluidity," the composition / disposition of their genitals or their "preferred" pronouns is stupid, disingenuous, myopic and makes those that subscribe to that thought process part of the overarching problem...

#TheFirstSeries On January 20, 2021, Kamala Harris made history by being the first woman, the first Black American, and the first South Asian American to be elected Vice President of the United States. Her election marks a significant milestone in American politics, showcasing the power of diversity and representation! 🏆 Beyond her groundbreaking role, women leaders like Kamala Harris are crucial in maintaining peace and development globally. According to the United Nations, women in leadership roles lead to more inclusive decision-making and better outcomes for communities. 🌍🕊️ When women participate in peace negotiations, the resulting agreements are more likely to last, and their leadership in conflict resolution often addresses critical social issues like health and education. Additionally, women's involvement in governance promotes transparency and builds public trust, contributing to sustainable development. At Pyramid Consulting, Inc, we are committed to being Intentionally Inclusive by providing all people equal access to opportunity through intentional DE&I programs, initiatives, and partnerships. In 2022, we launched a formal program that celebrates and elevates the diversity of our workforce - Belong:IN, the staffing industry's first ERG program for consultants. On June 19th, we commemorate Juneteenth, a day that marks a pivotal moment in American history. It was on this day in 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, that Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, bringing the news of freedom to the last remaining enslaved African Americans. Juneteenth symbolizes the end of a dark chapter in our nation's past and the beginning of a new era of hope and possibility. It is a day to honor the resilience and strength of those who endured the horrors of slavery and fought tirelessly for their liberation. As we reflect on the historical significance of Juneteenth, let us also recognize the ongoing struggle for racial justice and equality. May this day inspire us to confront the systemic inequities that persist in our society and to work towards creating a more just and equitable future for all. Let us celebrate the progress we have made, while acknowledging the work that still lies ahead. On this Juneteenth, let us reaffirm our commitment to building a nation where every individual, regardless of their race or background, can live with dignity, freedom, and the opportunity to thrive At Pyramid Consulting, you Belong:IN! #IntentionallyInclusive #diversityequityandinclusion #Juneteenth

Am I the only one that feels like this is inappropriate? DEI becomes IED? Is it the author or people who are out of touch with acronyms? My initial reaction when I hear IED is about the American troops lost due to improvised explosive devices. In fact when you google IED that is what you get. Is that what authors or these expert strategists want to convey? Let me clearly say that inclusivity is important. Equity is important. Diversity is important. Can’t we come up with something better that changing letters around? I thing DEI should be connective… not the explosive connotation this denotes. https://lnkd.in/eQbhZ29d
