Installing a fall restraint system helps to ensure that the risks associated with working at height are minimised and that legislation such as the Working at Height and Construction (Design and Management) regulations is complied with. For example, an effective and unobtrusive fall restraint system could be installed at the same time as the roof, avoiding the need for secondary work, reducing the amount of time spent at height and ensuring that an integral safety system is present from the outset and for ongoing maintenance of the roof and any services located there. The same principles apply to both new build, and refurbishment or retrofit roofs. There are several types of fall restraint equipment that are particularly suitable for use with insulated panel systems: 👷 Weatherproof ridge capping with a secure mobile fall-arrest attachment eye. 👷 Sections with a sliding joint to provide off-ridge fall protection requirements. 👷 Stainless steel cable and in-line components, which are mounted on roof anchors fixed to the membrane roof panel. 🔹🔹 CUT EDGE ROOF CORROSION RESPRAY We were contacted to repair and respray the roof and side cladding of an industrial unit in Reading. Roofing repairs of this type is also known as cut edge corrosion repairs, where the cut edges of the roof panels becomes compromised over time and begin corroding. Regular maintenance ensures the edges are kept protected from the elements and the integrity of the roof is maintained. As well as the visual appeal, regular maintenance can prevent smaller issues turning in to large, costly repairs. Every project receives a thorough onsite inspection as part of the quotation process. This allows us to establish the extent of the works, the condition of the roof and any other health and safety requirements, and accurately quote for the work. Once onsite, the entire area to be resprayed is cleaned with a high pressure jet. This blasts years of grease and grime from the surface of the panels, as well as stripping old, flakey paintwork in preparation for respraying. Areas requiring repair are sanded, grinding metal surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of the new coating. Once complete, a primer coat to all prepared surfaces to enhance adhesion and durability of the final coat. We use advanced airless spraying techniques to apply a high-quality metal cladding coating on both roof and wall surfaces. Ensuring an even and consistent application of the coating for maximum protection and aesthetic appeal. Once completed, we carry out a thorough inspection to ensure the works have been completed to a high standard. #contractors #refurbished #paint #cladding #guarantee #refurb #goodasnew #buildingrepair #paintguarantee #paintspraying #cladding #claddingrespray #giromax #MetalSheetRefurbishment #healthandsafety #ppe #workplacesafety #hse #cjpaintspraying #rebranding #refurbishment #specialists #claddingrepair #claddingpainting #beforeandafter

Enhancing Fire Safety with Single-Sided Access - Floors! Ensuring fire safety in buildings is paramount, and the Protecta FR Board system offers an effective solution. While typically requiring sealing of gaps from both sides of a floor after insertion, we've innovated a solution for scenarios with limited access to just one side. Introducing an additional upper board with the coating facing towards the installer will result in the same fire seal as the certified solutions. NOTE: The drawings illustrate how to install the FR Board system from one side. This must be used together with the product approvals for double FR Board systems in concrete floors. The same concept may be used with the single FR Board system in concrete floors, by excluding step 3. Further details can be found in the Protecta FR Board Installation Instructions:https://lnkd.in/eA3jni8p #FireSafety #ProtectaFRBoard #Innovation #BuildingSafety #LinkedInLearning #ProtectaFire #PassiveFireProtection

Did you know that some doorsets require their frames to be filled with wet mortar or concrete during installation?... This complex and time-consuming step is essential for compliance but raises questions about performance after installation. According to EN 1634-1: 2014+A1:2018, door frames that use water-based materials need a 28-day conditioning period before fire testing. This leads us to ask: Can doorsets that need backfilling deliver the necessary performance within those crucial 28 days? Our solution to this is our EBD65 - 60min Fire EI Doorset, which comes with a fully factory fitted insulated frame, which simplifies installation, eliminates the need for messy wet trades, and ensures high-quality performance and compliance from day one 🚀 Learn more about our compliance-driven approach to safeguard your spaces here: https://lnkd.in/grj9H4k5 #SteelDoors #ComplianceExcellence #DataCentre #DataCentreSolutions #EIdoors #FireSafety #FireDoor #ConfidenceThroughCompliance #EBDSteelDoors #PrecisionEngineering #SecuritySolutions #TechnicalSupport #BuildingSafety #FireResistance #FireTesting #Construction

Firepoint.arclin.com This is a shout out to all the builders across the US struggling to meet code and balance project schedules, while using gypsum shaftliner as a party wall solution. It has been around forever, yet poses a lot of hurdles in terms of needing additional labor to install these panels while using breakaway clips, H-studs and C-runners. These panels are brittle and can crack when dropped, are extremely heavy and have mold issues, even in the premium category of product. I have been on numerous job sites over the years and have seen many shaftliner installs that did not pass code due to improper installation. These types of slowdowns and the installations can be tedious, costly and frustrating. This is why we developed FirePoint! It is a simple and elegant solution for single-family party walls and exterior rated walls where you have close lot lines. FirePoint is more than just a structural panel, it is a premium fire-rated solution, providing the highest STC rating in class. And most importantly, it doesn’t need mineral wool in the cavity to achieve that high STC rating of 60+! So ditch the shaftliner product in party walls and give us a call to learn more about how to have a quicker build, save money, while offering premium fire resistance and top tier acoustical performance! "Going Beyond Code to Protect What Matters Most." Learn more at firepoint.arclin.com. #FireResistance #BuildingInnovation #ConstructionSafety

We aim to emphasize the significance of kick-out flashings in this post❗❗❗ A Kick-out flashing is a specific type of diverter flashing, it plays a crucial role in directing moisture away from the building envelope and into the gutter🏠 While these flashings have existed for a long time, they were only officially adopted by the IRC in 2009. Failing to address proper drainage through kick-out flashings can lead to prolonged moisture exposure on exterior cladding, resulting in water intrusion behind the wall and into the structure💧 Detecting such issues often takes years, as demonstrated in these inspection photos by Jordan. In this instance, a missing kick-out flashing led to elevated moisture inside the wall cavity, prompting further investigation. Upon opening the wall, contractors found hidden damage and potential mold🍄 #ErieInspectionService #ErieDoesIt #expERIEnce #MoreThanJustAHomeInspection #PhotosFromTheField #KickOutFlashings #KickOutFlashingAwareness

Lets talk about specific wall joint types. How specific? Lets look at shaft wall like elevator and cold well return shafts. These are single sided access systems that require same side inspections twice. How you say? Once the top and bottom track are set, the head of wall joint is firestopped INSIDE the stud pocket as well as treatment as the flutes (build C). Have a look at HWD0552 for example. If you're curious about the bottom of wall detail that corresponds, it would be BWS0037 which does NOT require sealant within the stud pocket, just on the finish layer. But HWD0552 requires sealant at both layers. I wonder how often this gets overlooked. #3m #firestop #firestopping #firesafety #lifesafety #continuingeducation #constructioneducation #construction #buildinginnovation #buildbetter #buildsmart #passivefireprotection #codeenforcement #buildingcodes #firemarshal #buildinginspections #contractoreducation #constructionmaterials #buildingmaterials #kcmo #inspectors #codesinspectors #firemashals
