Those Vegan Cowboys’ founder/farmer Jaap Korteweg: “When we first started in 2020, we gave this idea a 1% chance of success. It was a gamble. But we could take those odds because of The Vegetarian Butcher's success. ‘We're such cowboys’, Niko said when we went all in - and that's pretty much how Those Vegan Cowboys came about.” This year, we are looking at a very real cheese - the first of its kind, made with microbes instead of cows. We taught microbes how to make real casein (milk protein) and to our excitement, it turns out to have every property cow's milk cheese has. This opens the door for a next step that would have been fiction three years ago. Those Vegan Cowboys are about to build the milk stable of the future. Details of the building plans are disclosed in a cowboy-style newspaper, The Ghent Gazette, which can be downloaded on thosevegancowboys.com. We're pleased to share that we're in the middle of a bunch of good conversations already, but adventurers who still want to join can reach us through investors@thosevegancowboys.com. #thosevegancowboys #jaapkorteweg #feedtheworld #precisionfermentation #alternativeprotein #sustainabledairy #futureoffood #foodinnovation #foodscienceandtechnology #climatesolutions #foodscience #foodtechnology #vegancheese #cheeselover #cheese #plantbased #vegan #futureoffood

Brand, sales and marketing at The Vegan Society | Helping businesses grow and build trust with the world’s largest vegan certification scheme 🌻
🧀 A couple of months ago a major cheese producer told me you can’t refer to vegan cheese as, er, cheese in case it confused people who were looking for cheese cheese (does that all make sense?!). Well I will refer to it as cheese and I hope consumers looking for dairy cheese DO try vegan cheese because the innovation in taste, texture and quality is off the scale. Huge congrats to all the vegan brands who did so well in the recent Global Cheese Awards (including Vegan Trademark holders🌻)👇 We know cheese is one of the key reasons people struggle to stick with a vegan diet, so these brilliant brands are true pioneers for the category. #vegan #veganfood #sustainability #cheese #plantbased

Helping you overcome public speaking fear, perfect your elevator pitch, and craft your signature story. Be remembered, be repeated, and get rehired.
Pinky Cole's journey from facing significant setbacks to becoming a thriving business mogul with Slutty Vegan is truly inspirational. At one point, Pinky Cole was on a rough path, encountering her share of hardships and failures. She had a restaurant in Harlem that ultimately had to close, leaving her heartbroken and financially strained. Rather than giving up, she decided to turn these setbacks into valuable lessons and opportunities. In 2018, Pinky started a small vegan burger business called Slutty Vegan from her apartment in Atlanta. What began as just a food truck quickly gained immense popularity due to her unique, flavor-packed vegan burgers. People loved the delicious food and bold, fun branding. Word spread rapidly, and soon, lines formed around the block. Pinky's savvy use of social media played a massive role in her success. She posted enticing pictures, shared customer stories, and constantly engaged with her followers, making everyone feel part of the Slutty Vegan community. Just a few years later, Slutty Vegan has expanded to multiple locations and employs hundreds of people. Pinky's net worth has soared into the millions, and she has become not just a successful businesswoman but a beacon of hope and a role model, particularly for the Black community and women entrepreneurs. The takeaway from Pinky Cole’s story is clear: Failure isn't the end; it’s a stepping stone. Pinky took her challenges and used them as fuel for her success. She showed that with grit, innovation, and a bit of social media savvy, you can transform your life and inspire others in the process. Pinky Cole's rise demonstrates that anyone can bounce back from defeat stronger than before. It takes perseverance, creativity, and self-belief. So, don't count yourself out—you might be just one breakthrough away from your greatest success.

In this video, I'm sharing my first impression of the Vegan Harvest Snaps Salt and Vinegar! I've been hearing a lot of great things about these snacks, so I decided to give them a try. First of all, I was impressed by the packaging. The bright green color and the picture of the snap pea on the front made the product look fresh and inviting. When I opened the bag, I could immediately smell the tangy vinegar flavor, which made me excited to try them. As I took my first bite, I was pleasantly surprised by the satisfying crunch and the strong, but not overpowering, salt and vinegar taste. I could taste the snap pea, which added a nice texture and flavor to the snack. One thing I appreciated about the Vegan Harvest Snaps Salt and Vinegar was that they weren't too greasy or heavy like some other snack options. They felt light and refreshing, making them a great choice for a mid-day snack or to munch on while watching a movie. Overall, I really enjoyed trying the Vegan Harvest Snaps Salt and Vinegar and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a delicious and nutritious snack option. Is plant-based finished? Walking into the Veg Pad listening to the latest episode of the Dish podcast by Waitrose & Partners, it was surprising to hear Martin Freeman discuss his return to meat eating after 38 years of vegetarianism. And he’s not the only one. But the change isn’t coming from a fatigue of the plant-powered lifestyle - rather the rise in ultra processed meat alternatives. With more and more people turning away from UPFs and opting for wholefoods, the plant-based aisle is no longer fitting the brief. We made the conscious decision when we went plant-based all those years ago in 2018 to keep things real: just plants, made delicious. Despite a booming category of meat alternatives, our priority has always been plants, as they are. So Martin, if you fancy a return to flexitarianism, you know where to find us. #BOLFoods #bringonlife #BOLFoods #bcorp #Eattofeelunstoppable

Is there a difference between 'Plant-based' and Vegan? We think there is. Plant-based is has a much broader reach in terms of audience, which includes Vegans, Flexitarians, Ecotarians, Vegetarians, Pescatarians, etc. At SOAK'd OATS we try to make our products as inclusive as possible, which is why all our bars are made to vegan standards and some of the range are 100% allergen free. Veganism isn't just a fad or a diet, for many it's a way of life and encompasses much more than animal free ingredients. To give our Vegan customers confidence and peace of mind, we trademark all our products with the Vegan Society 😃 #vegan #plantbased
The Vegan Trademark team visited SOAK'd OATS stand at IFE 2024, and we had the pleasure of talking to Damien Gray and asking him about the brand’s thoughts on The Vegan Society certification. SOAK’d OATS started by registering their gut-friendly oat bars with the Vegan Trademark, and are continuing to grow their range with many exciting products to come. We had the pleasure of trying some of these tasty vegan treats at the event. SOAK'd OATS are a great example of brands going the extra mile to put their values into practice. Not only is their goal to create wholesome, honest, good-for-you products, but they also started their Carbon Reduction Project to continue their progress towards Net Zero. #VeganTrademark #VeganCertification #ProductDevelopment #Testimonial

I’m sick and tired of seeing articles like this Meanwhile Planthood (mine and Hilary Kennedy's company) has seen a 500% increase in new customers eating our healthy plant-based meal kits this month versus Jan ‘23 last year. The media has always tried to slam plant-based eating and veganism. Fortunately for human health, the climate crisis and animal welfare - they are not succeeding. This is the first time I’ve posted on LinkedIn since starting Planthood 3 years ago. To be honest it’s not really my thing, but as we are now one of the biggest 100% plant-based food manufacturers in the UK, I feel I have an obligation to speak out with actual data on how HUGE the demand is for healthy whole food plant-based eating right now. Planthood now produces 100,000 meals every month and we’ve grown by 400% every single year since launch (yes that includes the so-called ‘demise of plant-based in 2023’). And it's not just us - just take a look at the incredible growth of brands like Bold Bean Co (Amelia Christie-Miller) and Better Nature Tempeh (Christopher Kong Elin Roberts Fabio Rinaldo Dr. A. Driando Ahnan-Winarno). So if I have one message for the media, supermarket buyers, investors and everyone else trying their best to put the brakes on the plant-based movement it’s this: It is not working. Human health and the climate crisis are THE biggest issues of our generation. They’re important now and will be even more important in the future. Plant-based eating is a genuine solution to both of these and trust me, consumers are onto it (they're smarter than you think). If you believe anything otherwise you are asleep at the wheel. _______________________________________ If you want to hear more about the future of food, sustainability, healthy plant-based eating and how I grew my company from £0 to £5m+ revenue in 3 years with zero external funding - follow me.
