Because Public Art is Important and we all care about it. It's a civilizing influence and common sense. #thewrap #artnews https://lnkd.in/gHB8Abhr "... poignant, ephemeral, mystical, and optically deceptive — these are just some of the words used to describe the most striking public art interventions of 2023. Visionaries like MAD Architects‘ Ma Yansong, Jim Denevan, Anish Kapoor, and el Anatsui shook up the art scene, magnifying their creative genius by transforming seemingly ordinary elements into extraordinarily poetic and show-stopping installations. Whether to celebrate the natural world, breathe new life into derelict architecture, or comment on the tragedy of human realities, each of these artworks emblematize the incredible power of manipulating scale, material, and shape to craft unforgettable masterpieces."

Experienced Education Professional Excited to Begin Contributing to an Education Department at an Informal Education Setting
“What comes to your mind when you think of the 1920s? For most people, the 1920s conjures up images of jazz, flappers, Old Hollywood, the Great Gatsby, and the Chrysler Building in New York City. It was a time of prosperity, exorbitant spending, and entertainment that gave rise to one of the most popular decorative #arts and architecture movements — known as #ArtDeco. Characterized by exquisite craftsmanship, lavish decoration, and rich materials, the style has become synonymous with the Roaring Twenties. So, what was the Art Deco movement all about and what differentiates it from other major movements? Finally, despite its popularity today, what makes Art Deco so closely associated with the 1920s?" I have to admit I am one of those people who loves Art Deco. The Great Gatsby is my favorite book. It all speaks to me in a positive way. Speaking of speaking a fun activity that students enjoy when on a #museum visit is to have them imagine what the subject in an artwork might be saying. Hand out papers with an image of the piece they are viewing. Each page will have a blank speech bubble on it where students can write their imagined dialogue. Art Deco pieces are a good place to start this activity because they usually have clear images that are somewhat familiar to most students. The best part is hearing the dialogue students imagined along with their rationale for it. Have you ever done this activity before? How did it go? What did you learn by doing it? I encourage you to share your thoughts in the comments. #MuseumEducation https://lnkd.in/gcGbNu2R

I recently came across a fascinating project that I wanted to share with all of you. In my research on restoration techniques for wooden coffins, I stumbled upon a groundbreaking approach that takes traditional restoration to a whole new level. Typically, when it comes to restoring a painted wooden coffin, the objective is to bring it back to its original state while preserving its historical integrity. However, this new method challenges the status quo by incorporating modern elements into the restoration process. Instead of adhering strictly to historical accuracy, the idea behind this new approach is to breathe new life into these ancient artifacts. It involves blending the traditional restoration techniques with contemporary materials and designs, resulting in a stunning visual transformation. The end result is a captivating blend of old and new, which showcases the timeless beauty of these coffins in a fresh and exciting way. While purists may initially balk at this departure from traditional restoration, this innovative technique has gained a lot of attention and praise within the preservation community. It serves as a testament to the importance of evolution and adaptation in the field of restoration. By embracing new ideas and techniques, we can not only preserve the past but also invigorate it with a modern touch. The restoration of a painted wooden coffin is no longer limited to merely replicating its original state. This new approach allows for creativity and artistic expression, making each restoration project a unique and personalized endeavor. It opens up possibilities for collaborations with contemporary artists, designers, and craftsmen, creating truly one-of-a-kind pieces that capture the essence of the past while embracing the present. As someone who is passionate about restoration and preserving our cultural heritage, I find this new approach incredibly exciting. It challenges traditional norms and opens up avenues that were previously unexplored. I look forward to witnessing more projects that push the boundaries of restoration, creating a bridge between the past and the present for generations to come. for more paper my research Gate https://lnkd.in/dzUge6hC #wood #conservation #nanomaterials #coffin

A well-known sculptor Constantin Brancusi's quote implies a deep connection between sculpture and architecture, emphasizing that both include the forms that have a profound impact on those who interact with them. In this sense, architecture is viewed as a sort of artistic expression that fundamentally changes the human experience of place, rather than only a pragmatic or utilitarian profession. This statement is implying that architecture, like sculpture, is an art form that shapes built with humans in mind. #architecture #architecturalquotes #architect #inspirationalquotes #architecturaldesign #ArchitecturalExcellence #interiordesigners #tranquilglobal #weeklyquotepost
