Today, alongside our CEO- Gerald Otim, one of our Directors- Philip Oucor and Tim Chesire, we had the privilege of visiting one of our Refugee-Urban Savings Groups in Nsabya, Kampala. This incredible group has been using our #platform for 3 years now. Through their dedication and resilience, they have significantly grown their savings, which has empowered them to uplift their standards of living and create a more secure future for themselves and their families. Witnessing their journey firsthand was both humbling and inspiring—a powerful reminder of the impact we can make together. This is what drives us every day: seeing lives changed, dreams realized, and communities thriving. #USLAs #FinancialInclusion #Digitization #Impact #FacilitatingLastMileBanking

🔸Volunteering itself is my little way for now of fostering Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I believe fulfilling SDGs and making it come to bare in our society goes through a lifetime process that is from Ideas to baby steps to deliberate walks to bigger works, and greater impact. As individuals who are seeking to improve and cause a positive change, SDGs process interprets stages of, learning, becoming and eventual remarkable change making for ourselves, community, society and the entire world at large but in this case, 🔸I choose to Stand with GEAM AFRIKA to promote Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Africa starting from our country, Nigeria according to my best capability and reach. 🔸Thank You GEAM Afrika for the Opportunity to serve, I do not trade it for anything. . #Volunteering #Sustainabledevelopmentgoals #SDGs #GEAMAfrika #Africa #Nigeria #Week8 #Task8 #Mediaunit #Changemaker #Growth #Reminiscing. . ©️Lolia Gesiere 🌟

Besides climate change, perhaps one of the most pressing challenges in our society is poverty, not for nothing the 1st SDG of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, and at the same time one of the most complex objectives to advance, due to its multifactorial nature. In Latin America, the situation, unfortunately, is far from encouraging. According to the latest ECLAC Report, our region went back 28 years in extreme poverty indicators, as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Decades of efforts to improve livelihoods, which were lost in less than 2 years. For this reason, it is so exciting to be able to share today our partnership with Vale, because we know that great challenges require the efforts of multiple actors. This is how, and thanks to this new alliance, we will be contributing to the advancement of Vale's corporate goal of lifting 500,000 people out of extreme poverty in Brazil by 2030, which aligns with our Hatch Manifesto, reflects our shared commitment to meaningful change and sets the stage for transformation in this region, with special focus on Brazilian communities. Hey, in case you miss my publication. Find below 👇 My case is simple: driving sustained impact in communities require systems thinking and approach in the way we deliver development projects. Please read and enjoy.
🌍 In a rural Nigerian village, an NGO built a new well for clean water, but it soon broke down. Villagers reverted to travelling for miles in search of water, which was often contaminated. This scenario underscores the need for a systems change approach. By adopting a systems change 💡approach that addresses underlying problems, development organisations can achieve meaningful and lasting impact, transforming communities and lives for the better. Explore the transformative power of systems change ⚡️ in development interventions with Ikenna Ugwu from Ogadagidi Global Empowerment Initiative (Nigeria): https://lnkd.in/ehMmCcjm #SystemsThinking #Socent #SystemsChange #Empowerment #SCIportal

🌍 Excited to announce that I participated in the Voluntary National Review (VNR) of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Manicaland Province! The National Review process, which spanned several weeks across Zimbabwe's ten provinces, has just concluded in Manicaland today. It has been an incredible experience! The VNR served as a crucial platform for the country to assess its progress in achieving the SDGs, contributing to the National Development Strategy 1 and 2. It also allowed us to identify areas that require further attention and action. I am grateful for the opportunity to lend my voice and insights to shape Zimbabwe's sustainable development agenda. Throughout dynamic consultations, discussions, and workshops, I engaged with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and private sector representatives. The collective wisdom and passion displayed by all participants were truly inspiring! Together, we delved into innovative solutions and actionable strategies to address the pressing challenges faced by Zimbabwe in relation to the SDGs. The discussions consistently emphasized inclusivity, equity, and the principle of "LEAVING NO ONE BEHIND," ensuring that diverse perspectives were heard and valued. The collaborative spirit and unwavering commitment demonstrated by each participant have been instrumental in driving positive change. It is through such collective efforts that we can accelerate progress towards a sustainable future for Zimbabwe. #VNR #SDGs #SustainableDevelopment #Zimbabwe #Collaboration #PositiveChange
