Samsung Electronics is one of the largest technology and electronics conglomerates in the world by revenue. We have just created this infographic that illustrates the revenue and profitability of the company's five business units 👇 Here are some facts that caught our eye during the research process: → Samsung Electronics ships as many smartphones as Apple annually (~230 million). → The company has a dominant global market share in the capital intensive memory chip business (~45% for DRAM, ~33% for NAND). → It's the second largest semiconductor foundry in the world after TSMC – making leading-edge chips for companies like Apple, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm. → The company's semiconductor division, Device Solutions, now accounts for a third of revenue but a whopping 55% of EBIT. → The consumer electronics division (excl. Mobile Experience) on the other hand – making everything from TVs, washing machines to air conditioners – accounts for 19% of revenue but only 3% of EBIT. → Samsung Electronics is the 23rd largest public company in the world by market cap, $370B.
