Innovation drives our commitment to sustainability. In 2023, Partners continued to push the boundaries of what is possible in green finance. Our projects included the pioneering Green Era Anaerobic Biodigester in Chicago, which not only processes organic waste into clean energy but also combats urban food deserts. This is just one example of how we integrate cutting-edge environmental technology to benefit communities and the planet. And we are just getting started! The Justice Climate Fund Climate Fund, which Partners is a part of, was recently awarded a Clean Communities Investment Accelerator (CCIA) grant by the EPA. This recognition reinforces our dedication to fostering sustainable, eco-friendly communities. Collaborative water governance is key for watershed health. Great to see industry, governance, and thought leaders coming together for the Great Lakes Sustainable Growth Forum in late June to advance water stewardship and value water for a range of sectors from food to manufacturing and buildings management. The partnership between the Council of the Great Lakes Region (CGLR) and the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative’s (GLSLCI) Mayors’ Commission on Economic Transformation will guide sustainable economic growth that captures the value of protecting the environment and ensuring the health of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River freshwater ecosystems for future generations. At Terraformation, our mission is driven by a powerful conviction: that nature is our greatest ally in the fight against climate change. By providing the tools and infrastructure needed for biodiverse and resilient forest restoration projects, foresting the future at scale is possible. It's up to us—finance leaders, global investors, government officials—to pave this path forward with vision, decisiveness, and commitment.
