In honor of esteemed retired board member, James Day, and his wife Pinkie, the EOG Houston office donated time to the community. At the Houston Food Bank, volunteers sorted and packed weekend food bags for food insecure communities throughout the region. Later that week, Mr. Day joined other volunteers at the Willie H. & Gladys R. Goffney Community Garden where they turned soil and pulled weeds for the local community.

We have community land trust projects right here in the region that are working to change how we think about community stewardship and ownership of land. Here is a conversation about how land trusts are democratizing housing in Brooklyn. #communitylandtrust #democratizingwealth
“Community land trusts are nonprofit corporations that hold land on behalf of a place-based community, while serving as the long-term steward for affordable housing, community gardens, and other community assets on behalf of a community.” Community land trusts are changing the game and democratizing housing in Brooklyn - Brooklyn Org

As 2024 approaches, we reflect on the past 12 months and look ahead to what the next 12 may bring. One January event to look out for is the next #Coventry #Poverty Alliance meeting. The Alliance - originally formed by Grapevine and Central England Law Centre in the Spring of 2022 - continued throughout this year with a series of collaborative meetings, further strategic planning, frontline staff training and rights-based campaigns. Grassroots organisations, medium and larger charities, and the public sector working together to support the delivery of frontline support for people most hard hit by the rising #CostOfLiving. Next year's priorities are set to include focusing on a select number of big things that have the potential to really shift the dial for people in need, becoming clearer on what works and where more capacity may need to be built or brought in to maintain forward momentum. January's meeting convenes to formulate this plan. Contact our CEO Clare Wightman if you can help. Join Grapevine in making our people and communities fairer, stronger and more connected. #ShiftingPower #SystemsChange 📷 Tomasz Tomal via Unsplash

The report also discusses organizations that are part of a larger movement of collaborations and collectives — the Bay Area Independent Community Media Coalition — experimenting and gaining traction with reader support, philanthropic funding and advertising. Golden opportunities for giving. Your retired clients are more likely to get involved in the community, less likely to itemize deductions, more likely to want to get their children and grandchildren involved in their philanthropy, and excellent candidates for QCDs. Learn how to make the most of these techniques by working with The Community Foundation. https://lnkd.in/eGsVZwGd

Rod and his team are the best. Fast, efficient and a wealth of knowledge in the business. I loved voicing this one, a bit of narration, different that a commercial really and still different from eLearning. The closest I’ve gotten to a “documentary”. #FortWayne #NonProfit #Narration
At Luminous we help nonprofits tell their story. Community Harvest has been serving this community for over 40 years! Watch this opening to their documentary and let's discuss your story! luminousproductions.org

Rossi Companies Makes Community Impact with Donation INDIANAPOLIS - Jan. 21, 2024 - PRLog -- Indianapolis, IN 01/20/24 The Rossi Companies Inc. a premier multi service contractor based in Indianapolis made a generous donation of $50,000.00 to the Catholic Charities with the understanding that the proceeds were to be distributed for the less fortunate in both Indianapolis, and Louisville conversely for people that are homeless and needing provisions for shelter and aide during this time of extreme cold weather. We have very close ties to the Catholic Church, and feel it's both our obligation and duty to give back to communities when people are struggling just eat and find shelter, more so when temperatures have been lingering in the single digits, compounded by snowfall. With the many partnerships that we have developed over the years, we felt compelled to set a precedent as a partner that people can relate to, and are proud of as well. In the final analysis, we feel that helping our needing members in the community is both profitable and bottomline... We will continue to monitor our surroundings as the days progress, and lend any further help that may be needed accordingly. rossicompanies.com Contact Corporate Communications Rossi Companies Inc. rossicompanies.com ***@rossicompanies.com End Source : Lisa Capazelli Email : ***@rossicompanies.com Listed Under- Tags : Corporate Giving, Community Help, Community Outreach Industry : Construction, Business, Engineering Location : Indianapolis - Indiana - United States

At the risk of stating the obvious: Communities are typically made up of people. You hear a lot about how nonprofits should build their community as part of their fundraising efforts, but we often lose sight of the individuals who make up that community. There’s that donor who calls you to complain about the appeal you sent, but still gives anyway. Somehow, there’s always someone who stops you in the hall and talks your ear off about their grandkids whenever you’re in a hurry. Let’s not forget about that committee member with perfect attendance who has all the far-out ideas and tends to ramble. It’s easy to neglect these kinds of relationships, but, if you’re disciplined and consistent in your cultivation efforts with them, you’ll find yourself surrounded with plenty of unique and diverse superfans ready to change the world with you. Like how you build a house one brick at a time, you build a community one relationship at a time. (Side Note: I don't actually know how building houses works) #fundraising #community #relationships
