While current retinal cell therapies leveraging retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells are promising, they suffer from process limitations that lead to high adverse event rates (i.e. retinal membrane formation, retinal detachment/hemorrhage) that make them unable to improve patient vision at scale. GelMEDIX is excited to present never-before-seen data on novel approaches to RPE regeneration at the upcoming Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and Ophthalmology Innovation Source OIS Retina conferences in Seattle. We'll share how in situ formed hydrogel scaffolds optimize RPE engraftment leading to an 8X increase in cell localization and improved cell morphology post-transplantation in porcine, as well as never-before shared data demonstrating RPE monolayer restoration in a rabbit model of GA. https://lnkd.in/e_WrdqAH

So excited to announce the most recent publications from I-SPY! The first 2 arms of our new patient-centered trial, I-SPY 2.2, designed to personalize treatment to tumor type and response, were published on Sept 14th. The results were also presented at European Society of Medical Oncology. From the first to last patient accrued it took 2 years, including the completion of therapy and surgical results to presentation! This is a huge milestone. Accelerating the pace at which we generate new knowledge is the key- that is the Mission of the I SPY Program, our academic consortium, and QuantumLeap Healthcare Collaborative. That is how we will get the right drug to the right patient at the right time. The goal of I SPY 2.2 is to get every patient to complete pathological response, meaning there is no tumor left when systemic treatment is started before surgery, and to decrease toxicity to patients.
