Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the leading state with respect to addition of transmission lines by state transmission utilities in FY24, statistics by Central Electricity Authority (CEA) suggest. In FY24, state utility Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (UPPTCL) added 1,460 ckm of transmission lines of 220kV or above. This was much ahead of the achievement by any other state utility. Second-ranking utility Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd (GETCO) ended FY24 with addition of 898 ckm. #cea Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation ( Uppcl ) Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO) #powertransmission

ACME’s Legal Battle Seeking Relief From Penalties For COVID-19 Impact On 25 MW Solar Power Generation In Rajasthan ACME Heergarh Powertech Pvt. Ltd. and ACME Solar Holdings Pvt. Ltd. (collectively referred to as “ACME”) have filed a petition under Section 86 of the Electricity Act, 2003, and their Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) dated August 21, 2019, against Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSEDCL). The petition seeks an injunction to prevent MSEDCL from levying penalties on ACME for the fiscal year 2022-23 due to a shortfall in the generation of power, which ACME attributes to Force Majeure events, specifically the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent supply chain disruptions. ACME’s 300 MW Solar Power Project, located in Bhadla, Rajasthan, was […] Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gfha3EeA #solarenergy #alternativeenergy #solarpv #pvsolar #photovoltaic #cleanenergy #cleantech #climatechange #acme #india #msedcl #rajasthan #regulatoryaffairs #solarenergy

💡 On-Load Tap Changer (OLTC) Transformer: The OLTC is a mechanism that allows for the adjustment of the transformer's turns ratio while it is energized and loaded. It enables the transformer to adapt to changing system conditions without interrupting the power flow. 🔦 The AVR senses the secondary voltage and initiates a command to the OLTC as to which tap position it should be placed. The OLTC then moves to the respective tap position to regulate the secondary voltage. The tap positions are moved towards the negative tapings to increasing the secondary voltage and positive tapings to reduce the secondary voltage. • OLTC is an ideal device for voltage regulation for steady state fluctuations • It is not an alternate for FACTS controllers. • 23% of failure in power transformers are due to OLTC. It is the only movable component in a transformer. • Typically, 10000 operations or 30 years might be the life of an OLTC. 📚 To learn more, join us on a great platform with Selvakumar S, our business head POWER PROJECTS, on January 21st, 2024, at 10:30 am.
