It was fun visiting the Library of Congress for the first time on Wednesday September 25th 2024 where I explored most of the exhibits and what attracted my attention was that of Digital Memory. The exhibition Digital Memory at the #LibraryofCongress showcases how technology can shape lives and as a civic engagement it demonstrates how the society uses technology to access information and resources which influences social changes including in healthcare. It highlights the impact of technology on society and also preserves the digital history of significant events, including those related to healthcare which can inform future healthcare policies and practices. This exhibition fosters critical thinking about the role of technology in healthcare and society, helping healthcare professionals to better understand the complexities of healthcare in the digital age. Also, it explores #DigitalDivide in examining the disparities in access to technology and information which can highly be a barrier for resources to better health outcome. By exploring digital memory, healthcare providers can better understand the impact of digital divide on healthcare access and outcomes hence stay informed as well as promoting health equity and addressing social determinants of health. Where limited access to information and resources can exacerbate health disparities. The exhibition offers valuable insights for healthcare professionals to better understand how technology has an impact on ultimately improving patient care and promoting health equity.

Let’s bust a conference myth. ❌ Myth: "The idea of 'actionable takeaways' seems more like wishful thinking than reality." ✔️ Reality: You can take home game-changing insights that drive tangible results. 🧾 Proof: 🔍 "I learned that radiology uses about 7.5% of electrical consumption in a hospital, and that MRIs are most responsible for that consumption. Also learned that 1/3 of the consumption happens when the MRI is in the 'off-mode'. That will help make the business case for managing energy consumption of MRIs." — National Program Manager, Government Agency 🔍 "I learned some great new strategies to explain to C-suite the risks associated with deferred maintenance." — Facilities Operations Manager, Regional Health Care System Join ASHE at our Health Care Facilities Innovation Conference this July! #innovateHFM Attend and find out what your takeaway value will be >> https://ow.ly/J71v50Sc5S5

Really insightful and echoes some of the themes that experts both on the traditional and more niche sides of healthcare have brought up recently. The shift to whole person care has been playing out for a few years now, however, there is work to do. Recently, the pandemic shed a light on how the interconnected our world is. Now with the proliferation and growth of AI, there is interest in how we can leverage this technology to improve or address some of the current gaps in healthcare. Looking forward to seeing how these trends play out. #systemsinnovation #healthcare
