👩⚖️ Yesterday we celebrated International Women Judges' Day (10 April), a time to recognise and honour the vital role that women play in the administration of justice around the world. As an immigration lawyer, I understand the importance of having committed and competent women judges in the judicial system. In a world where gender equality remains a challenge, it is crucial to highlight the role of women in the fair application of the law and the protection of human rights. Women judges bring not only a diversity of perspectives, but also a unique sensitivity to gender issues and an ability to address injustices that disproportionately affect women and minorities. As legal professionals, we must work together to promote an inclusive and equitable justice system, where all people, regardless of gender, ethnicity or immigration status, can access justice fairly and without discrimination. 👩⚖️ On this International Day of Women Judges, let us recognise the hard work and commitment of all women who have dedicated their lives to the administration of justice and reaffirm our commitment to gender equality in the legal system. Let us celebrate together the transformative power of women in justice! Below I am, I don't want to be a judge, but I admire them very much, leaving work to be with my family :) #InternationalDayOfWomenJudges #GenderJustice #GenderEquality

Today is the International #WomenInDiplomacy Day, during which women who negotiated peace agreements and strengthened international relations are celebrated. Furthermore, this day is used to remember women whose contributions were dismissed of history or whose achievements were attributed to men in higher positions at the time. Gender equality is not only a matter of human rights but also essential in fighting against a hostile environment that discourages women from using their voice, threatening their right and possibility to contribute fully to society. For example from some research it’s emerged that when women hold diplomatic roles in governments, better laws for ordinary people, environment and social cohesion are passed.
