In the quest for educational equity and inclusion, partnerships between educational institutions, nonprofits, and communities are lighting the way forward. These collaborations are a testament to what can be achieved when diverse groups come together with a common goal: to ensure that every student has access to a quality education, irrespective of their background. From joint research initiatives to community-based education programs, these partnerships are breaking down barriers and creating more inclusive learning environments. They're not just changing policies; they're transforming lives by making education more accessible, culturally responsive, and equitable for all. As we commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education decision, it's crucial to recognize the role of collective effort in continuing the journey towards educational justice. This landmark ruling was a pivotal moment in the fight for desegregation, setting the stage for future advancements in equity and inclusion. 🌟 Let's honor this legacy by supporting and initiating partnerships that drive progress in our education systems. 🌟 Discover how you can contribute to fostering these vital collaborations and join us in celebrating the strides we're making towards a more equitable educational landscape. 🔗 For more information on the commemoration event and how you can participate, visit https://lnkd.in/gtzj6NVD #PartnershipsForProgress #EducationalEquity #BrownvBoard70 #InclusiveEducation #CommunityImpact

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to be invited to The Brilliant Club's inaugural lecture given by Professor Sir Chris Husbands on social mobility past and present in higher education. His talk offered three main takeaways. Firstly, that accessible, inclusive and higher quality public education makes a profound difference. Secondly, that social mobility and social justice are not interchangeable and mean different things in different contexts. Thirdly, that education leadership that is generous, engaged and collaborative across institutions creates opportunities and openings. Importantly, our understanding of social mobility should be nuanced to accommodate the influence of place. It should also acknowledge that our understanding is always out of date given that we are constantly looking backwards in determining whether someone has been socially mobile. Chris’ emphasis on cross-sector collaboration in his talk, and chatting with colleagues afterwards, echo conversations we’ve had at AMOSSHE, The Student Services Organisation on the importance of collaboration in the sector. Many of our members are pro-active in seeking out examples of best practice from colleagues across the sector to improve student services provision at their institution. Speaking after the event to colleagues across secondary and further education provision, higher education providers, charities and the wider third sector was a great reminder that many of us working in this space are united in wanting to improve the experience of higher education for all students.

🧠Late Night thoughts of a #ChildWelfare Director 📝 I have been a long time supporter of #CommunityPartnershipSchools because of the strong work of CHS Florida and Andry Sweet!! As we are thinking about upstream prevention, I wonder the business case and a case study where this model is implemented at a school that averages high number of abuse calls and/or removals and over time see if there is a reduction in intakes to truly building the momentum for moving from #MandatedReporters to #MandatedSupporters.
Thanks to Gary Michaels for spotlighting the positive impact of Community Partnership Schools in Pensacola.💙💛 "The Community Partnership Schools model is a long-term solution to many of the challenges that face our communities – especially those struggling to afford basic needs and those on the precipice of crisis. And it is proven to work, proven to follow high standards of evidence-based practice to combat learning barriers that have challenged children and communities for decades."
