At Jayva Global we are celebrating our 10th anniversary this year. I’ve been part of the team since 2017, it’s been and continues to be a journey that I have loved.  We have a tight knit team where trust and respect is at the heart of everything we do. In my opinion, empathy has a key role in the modern workplace. Other business owners, managers and entrepreneurs agree, because empathy is increasingly recognised as a critical component of successful team dynamics. It’s not just about understanding each other’s feelings; it’s about building a shared sense of support and community that can lead to greater trust and higher productivity. Let me clarify further… Building Trust Through Empathy Trust is the foundation of any strong relationship, including those we build at work, as well as those in our personal lives. When leaders and colleagues demonstrate empathy, they signal that they value and respect each other’s perspectives and well-being. This creates a safe environment where individuals feel comfortable sharing ideas and taking risks, which is essential for innovation and growth. Empathy and Productivity Empathy can also have a direct impact on productivity. Employees who feel understood and appreciated are more likely to be engaged with their work. They’re motivated to contribute positively to projects and collaborate effectively with their peers, leading to better outcomes for the entire organisation. For law firms particularly, productivity equals a revenue boost. Strategies for Cultivating Empathy Cultivating empathy doesn’t happen overnight. To harness the benefits of empathy, organisations can: •            Encourage Active Listening: Create opportunities for employees to share their thoughts, ideas and feelings, and train leaders to listen actively and respond thoughtfully. •            Foster Inclusivity: Promote an inclusive culture where diverse perspectives are valued and everyone feels they belong in all their individuality. •            Provide Support: Offer resources and support for employees’ professional and personal development, showing that the company cares about their growth and success. Conclusion So, empathy is not just a ‘nice-to-have’ feature in the workplace; it’s a strategic imperative that can lead to a more trusting and productive work environment which is advantageous to everyone concerned – employer and employee. By prioritising empathy, organisations can establish a culture where employees thrive and the business prospers.  That's certainly evident in the way Jayva Global has grown over the previous decade, long may it continue.

💪 This week I celebrated my first anniversary at WEX 😎 and I had a blast. I had the opportunity to join a couple of networking events with my colleagues, celebrate international women's day in the office and complete a great development learning that our new CMO curated for us. During this past year, there have been tough moments and great moments but all have been huge learnings. One of my favourite things, is to confirm that I am surrounded by passionate, smart working, high performing teams that have a customer-centric approach. >>some bits of the curated development learning that I think are very useful reminders: 💎 Time management ⏳ always tailor to your style ✉ Don't check your emails first thing in the morning 📝 Allocate time for everything, including personal stuff! 🎨 Inside out approach - do what feels good for you, on your personality 🎯 Don't focus on your goals - focus on behaviours And I love the recommendation to find a partner to ensure you make time for learning. Those tough moments sometimes don't allow us the time to reflect, continue learning and see what is important for us. For me, time management was becoming a mission impossible at some point and having these reminders is great. An underrepresentation of Latinas in entry-level corporate roles only worsens as their careers progress, making them the least-represented group of C-suite executives in the U.S., according to a new report. Latinas hold just 4.9% of entry-level corporate jobs, 3.3% of managerial jobs and 1% of C-suite roles, according to the Lean In report.

Whether it's a resource, a friend, whatever. I love keeping in touch with my candidates; it makes this job significantly more human." He went on to tell a story: "A crop of executives from my first-ever Proof of Talent client started their own company, which has gone on to be a massive player in the Web3 space. I had a great relationship with those guys, so I reached out whenever I had great candidates. ... There was one instance where I had a super strong Marketing candidate.
