This may sound harsh, but we're going to pay you up to $50,000 to FAIL!!! Most Entrepreneurs that apply to the BisonX grant program freak out when we tell them this, but once we explain why, they come around and get it. So what does that mean exactly? The whole purpose of the grant program is to give Entrepreneurs the capital, process and guidance to go validate their business ideas. If 90% of startups eventually fail by year 5, why not try to cut that percentage down by guiding Entrepreneurs through one of the most important aspects of Entrepreneurship, validation. Validate the demand, the price, the business model, the team needed, the budget required, your limitations and your expertise... Everything that you should know before starting a business. Why is failure the end goal? It isn't really, we obviously want people to succeed, but if you're going to fail then it's better to do it fast so then you can learn, pivot and try again better educated or just scrap the idea and move on to the next one. Plus... it's kind of catchy to the point where it should light that fire under their asses and come back at us with, "Hold my beer!". When you tell someone that they can't do something and then put real money behind that statement, people tend to step up just to prove you wrong!

Many times I talk about this with founders. And when I say it, they keep looking at me as if I were an alien. So, you don't need to believe me. but you can believe in Rui Falcao, who has been investing in startups for so many years and inspiring many others (including myself) to do so. Yes, founders, you can and you should choose your investors. They can become true partners or a nightmare. If you ate talking to investors that want to make you feel that they are the only one choosing, take a step back, breathe and think twice.
