My client lifted both hands in the air, like she was under arrest, as we kicked off her first session… “I don’t have a niche!” She had the same mild trauma some other my other clients show up with after talking to other marketers. Can niching be powerful? Sure. But it’s not where she’s at right now. So we didn’t shoehorn one onto her business that day. Instead we: → Determined the types of clients and audiences she enjoys interacting with. → Mapped out her offers and messages so that they logically connect with those audiences. → Identified a shortlist of conferences and events her people will be at. → Outlined 3 signature talks she can pitch and promote. In fact, she’s already got a bite on one! That’s the difference between a blanket approach, and a strategy centered on things that will work for YOU and your distinct situation.

"But it’s not where she’s at right now." - Love that you recognized that! Niching down just because you feel like you have to is a sure way to regret it later.
