Final tests are now complete for this giant scrap separator before it heads to its new home, just in time for the new year. The custom separation system is configured with each drum in a bottom-fed orientation, to maximise grade of ferrous recovery, and the double pass ensures that nothing of value is missed. Whilst both heavy-duty feeders provide an even and constant flow of material to the drums, the drums also benefit from a consistent magnetic field across their full working width unlike electromagnetic equivalents that have all their strength concentrated in the central section, which would compromise overall ferrous recovery for this particular application.
